I've tried Oreo Os before years ago when I first saw them. Was completely excited... until I took the first bite. Total disappointment. Threw them out.

Ditch your meal plan and develop a diet that combines sound nutrition with the foods you enjoy by eating when you see fit in the portions that allow you to achieve your macronutrient and caloric needs while providing sufficient micronutrients, energy and satiety. One can never forget that nutrition is a tool, not a restraint; the enjoyment of life should always come first. Psychological, sociological and emotional health should never be threatened by the attempt to increase physiological health.

Well, it's nice that you're asking. You see, it is impossible to trace the origin of the concept ratio, since the ideas from which it developed would have been familiar to preliterate cultures. Regardless, there are several prehistorical meanings.
However, the existence of multiple theories seems unnecessarily complex to modern sensibility since ratios are, to a large extent, identified with quotients. This is a comparatively recent development however, as can be seen from the fact that modern geometry textbooks still use distinct terminology and notation for ratios and quotients. The reasons for this are twofold. First, there was a prehistorical reluctance to accept irrational numbers as true numbers. Second, the lack of a widely used symbolism to replace the already established terminology of ratios delayed the full acceptance of fractions as alternative until the 16th century.
However, the concept of ratio is far more interesting from a philosophical point of view. Ratio, translated from ancient Greek (logos) into Latin (ratio) means "reason". Reason is used to refer to the capacity human beings have to make sense of things.
Knowing this, what sense does it make to mix GY with Graham crackers, 32g PB and choco pie filling? Well, not much if you ask me.
So ratio's are important and I care about them. Just not in the same way as xcessive1 probably does. But hey.
