Anyone who says "well, not in my neighborhood!" doesn't understand that we're referring to the overall trend of decline.
maybe it the price of candy in Bidens america? but even less children during Trump as well.
I don't know...it could be that candy isn't as desirable as whatever is on the internet. that would be my guess. prolly seems like a waste of time if parents say they will just buy their kid whatever candy they want + mcdonalds while they surf their ipads.

It’s just below zero here and I’ve had less than 20 kids . The weird thing is they are coming much later at night. At one time I’d rarely see a kid after 7 pm , now the teenagers are out after 9 .
I thought with the mild weather I’d get more this year , but I’ve had the least amount in 20 years .
Even my regulars aren’t showing upMake Misc great again

I’ve lived here my whole life and spent many halloweens in snow boots. The weather isn’t a reason
Also, I live in one of the least diverse states so getting jogged isn’t a concern. Kids probably just don’t give a chit. I’m sad about it. Halloween was one of my favorite days as a kid, and it seems to have just died and become a day sloots have an excuse to dress like whores.

I had about 100 kids come by. It depends on the neighborhood. Some will be a ghost town and others will have tons of them.
Curious how many of you actually live in the suburbs though. If you're in the city or close to it no one is trick or treating in those areas. If you do live in the suburbs then the next step is you have to live in the safe and wealthy parts.
Clearly miscers not doing as well as they often like to brag about if none of you had kids come by lmao

because although kids always traveled to better neighborhoods on Halloween thus some neighborhoods would be packed, you still had a steady stream of kids coming through less-rich neighborhoods. prol similar to how you simply see less kids playing it the street, although you might see them in a cul-de-sac neighborhood. still rare.
muh guess is
1) the internet/gaming changed gave them something else to do
2) information overload amplified the likelihood of something bad happening (bad candy, robbed, etc.)
3) parents working more
4) just general disinterest by kids cuz maybe kids don't hang out in groups by neighborhood anymore and more to do with social affiliations/church

heres what happening
there are less kids in general relative to the 90s
with social media and smart phones parents all know about the "cool" areas to trick to treat to take photos and flex. so people DRIVE to the hot areas where they are busier than ever.
its basically like dating due to tinder. 80/20 rule. 20% of the streets will get 80% of the trick or treaters
in nyc area go hang out in garden city, glen ridge, ridgewood, bronxville, montclair and numerous other areas and tell me trick or treating is dead.
