We called it 'Kill the Carrier'. Around nine or ten years old I played football for the Azalea Bulldogs and we would do it before practice starts. Much more alpha to be the one bold enough to carry the ball and juke a small group of fierce ten-year olds.

When that ball was on the ground, you can separate the men from the boys by who is feigning a half-hearted attempt at picking up the ball and those who pick it up expeditiously.

The only thing worse than this was in high school when the coach was upset at us, he would line everyone up in two lines facing each other 10 yards apart and each person would run at full speed to hit the other one. You have to get low and most of the time helmets crash together. Probably still a little messed up from that.
