Opinions on watches brahs? Looking at an $80 bulova and I checked ebay completed listings and none of them sold for under $130ish
Edit: hit the jackpot picked up 2 brand new ones for $160, found the exact one sold on ebay ranges from $150-300 each. Tripled my money per watch.Last edited by HeffToBeMad; 12-09-2012 at 04:18 PM.

So if some people are selling the same product as you what do you guys do? Hold the item for a bit until theres less supply up on eBay? List it anyway? List it for less than the other people even still making a good profit?
Got a couple more watches and there are like 10 listing with prices around$180+. I figured id just throw it up for $150, you think it will move it quicker?

Look at what the watches have sold for (Completed Listings). If you see that they're all selling put yours up there. And if they're all selling for decent prices, maybe do an auction instead of a Buy it Now so that your listing will appear higher in search results than the Buy It Now ones.
A lot of people selling the same item is only a problem is none of them are actually getting sold. Look at all the people selling iPhones.
On a side note, I really hate eBay fees. Almost $100 in fees for one item=Sucks!

Hort sheit karmaloop has 40% off for the next 24 hours. Haven't looked into anything flip-worthy but might pick up some things for myself. That's a fat chunk off.

I can confirm the last 3 things I bought on ebay were from O/S. Got stick of ram and a suppliment thats not available here (Aus) from US. Don't know how even after postage etc. its still cheaper then Aus sellers.
So having read the OP, the aim of the game is to find opportunities to buy low both in real life and on the net and then sell high on ebay?

^^ Thanks, I always do completed listing filters. How does the auction part even work, I never use it because I thought people can bid for way lower than what you are asking and then you have to take a profit hit?
Also, I wish i could find out how much demand there is for the item, is there a way to?

You set the number that the auction begins at.

The completed listing filter is actually a really good way to see if there's demand for the item. If you see a lot of them have sold recently, then you know people are buying. If you see a lot of them are being put of for sale but aren't selling, then that's a pretty good indicator that the demand isn't really there for them. That's my process when I look for things I'm going to sale.
As for auctions, as long as there is a demand for whatever you're selling you will likely get the going rate for it. Again, you can check out the completed listing to see the average price the item is selling for. If you're worried about not getting the amount you want, you can set a reserve price for you auction so that if the auction doesn't reach the reserve price you don't have to sell it. I typically only do this with more expensive things though. In my experience and from what I've seen, it's usually best to start your auction out at $.99 and if you're worried about the price then set a reserve. I've seen tons of people starting their auctions off at the price they want to sell it for and nobody bids. It's probably a more psychological thing because people go to eBay looking for a good deal. So when they see an auction for a video game at $4, they watch it to see where it's gonna go or start bidding in hopes of getting a great deal. Even though the auction might still have days to go, the low price struck their interest and caught their eye. But when you're starting off your auction at $40 and the game is selling for around $50, people don't connect that price to a great deal mentally. They would rather watch the auction with the lower price because they think to themselves "maybe nobody else will bid on it and I can get a great deal". I know that's probably a little more info than you were looking for but hopefully its somewhat helpful lol.

Saw a deal on a necklace from Zales on SD. marked down from $120 to $25. Went to buy and it was expired. Blah.

$500 in profit today off random flips and deals. Feels good, since I'm furloughed over the holidays and was worried about how I was going to pay my bills. Hope you are all having similar success.

Hey brahs new ebay seller here. So I just sold an item for my buy it now price, and the money is in my paypal account. The buyer has 0 feedback, basically a new account. While my account only has like 2 feedback, I understand its possible he's new as well. Should I just ship the item and make sure to get signature confirmation, etc? I have listed a no return policy on my listing. Fast reply please, thanks guy.

My jimmies are rustled. I went to the post office to deliver packages sold from friday to sunday, on monday, had probably 10 parcels. she starts weighining them individualy then gives up on the 3rd and says you will be charged 3.65 pounds for every other one (to save time in the que), i hear someone say "we are going to be here all day", i was like da fuq?
so for packages where i should of been paying 2.15 i was charged 3.65, about 5 times so i lost £7 pounds (about 15 dollars) just because she didnt want to take her time.
This in the UK is a place you can also go to get your welfare/benefits from and it was busy today, how the **** do i avoid **** like this? is there anyway i can get some sort of proof of weight before giving packages in? are there any sort of print outs or something that can avoid stuff like this happening..
so now when working out the costs, for products i charged £8.49 for, i just paid £3.65 in shipping, minus fees such as paypal, and the actual cost of the product, i think i probably broke even, just because of **** like this.

How much would you guys pay for a blackberry bold 9700 with a faulty LCD screen? And what about a 9800 torch with the same problem? As im starting with a small budget can't afford to make too many bad decissions

First, start shipping through PayPal. You will save yourself a ton of money and time. You enter in the weight yourself and print the label yourself too. I just dropped off 20+ packages, I can't imagine what it would have been like if I went to the post office and had them do it all. It would have taken forever and I would have had to pay a lot more. Second, why in the world would you just accept those extra charges? You should have told her to weigh them all. Just like everyone else said, it's her job.
