I have bought my share of chicken breast @ $1.25 a lb on the "sell before" date. Not proud, but not dead, not even a minor salmonella outbreak.
I think my immune system was boosted by my grandmother. She didn't throw anything away, unless maybe it exploded on it's own. Good odds her milk would be chunky, and going through her pantry and looking at canned goods was like a visit to a museum.

Seriously? A full hour without a post?
Here's a newb type question...Do you guys use a little something for motivation when you are feeling the cutting blues? Does anybody carry around a fat pic of themselves in case you are tempted by some high cal treat? Anything like that?
Just wondering...I always tend to get to about this weight (low 170s) and then lose traction and never really break into the 160s. This is a shame cause I think I only have about 15-18 lbs more to go until I can start bulking for a while.
Anyway, what do you use to keep you going deeper into a cut even after you have already made good progress?

damn son, only 15-18 more pounds? thats a lot! I play a lot of vidya games so i just dont think about food, im hungry as hell (when i was at my leanest) but food isnt a part of my life since i dont think about it so it becomes a non issue. I think the best thing is just to forget about what you eat and leave your workout for workout time. A full day to enjoy what you want to eat in moderate every 3 weeks is good, not that IIFYM crap.

When I was really tempted while cutting I would think to myself "How many times have you eaten X (snickers bar, ice cream, handful of M&Ms) before in your life? Many times. You know what it tastes like, and it's not like you're never going to taste it again. You just don't need it today." Drink some water, and within 5-10 minutes the craving would generally be gone.
I'm having a bit of an issue, I'm trying to eat around maintenance (2500 cal) for about 2 weeks before getting into a bulk. I basically stopped doing IF when I stopped my cut because I didn't want to restrict myself anymore. Now I'm HUNGRY AS FUARK. I've usually hit my cals for the day by 4-5 PM because now I'm having something to eat earlier in the morning and drinking a latte with it, having a couple of big meals and a snack and when the evening rolls around I'm battling serious hunger. I'm not sure if I want to go back on IF schedule or what. I want to have a cleanish bulk, hopefully transitioning up from maintenance to my bulk cals will help.
I'm a bit scared to see what the scale is going to do, since I had my Thanksgiving pigout and then immediately upped my cals, and I just started taking creatine. I'm guessing I won't be able to trust the scale for at least the next few weeks to see whether I'm eating enough or too much.US Coast Guard ~ SEMPER PARATUS
