Steve Alten is a fantastic writer.
He's one of those guys that can really work with a small image and expand it into a large usable storyline.
If you liked The Loch you should also check out Lone Scythe.

In seriousness, part of the other thing I wound up not liking about journaling is the feeling that I have to explain or justify every decision. I mean, I'm going to do what I am going to do, but I've also been training a long time. So what might be okay for me to do might not be the best move for a beginner (for example), so I felt somewhat obligated to explain the reasoning so that causal viewers wouldn't misinterpret the methods. I probably shouldn't care, but IMO a good journal isn't just a list of sets and reps.

Nicely done.
Is that a real book, be tea dub? Do you also actually like Steve Alten?
I found The Loch randomly at the book store. Seemed like an interesting premise. Great read.
The book Goliath had this statement about it, "Tom Clancy fans will devour it...an exciting read. - The Booklist"-

With a first name like Tate... the slew of rhyming nicknames was inevitable. And my typical handle "Tate" was already taken, as well as every variation I could think of during the registration process. I put this one in frustrated and just messing around. And what do you know, no one has it...
So far the Rant seem to be a place where witty comments are met with other witty comments and not just a regurgitation of the same 10 memes the internet seems to be in love with.

11-09-2012, 07:03 AM #4394Steven Robert "Steve" Alten (born August 21, 1959, Philadelphia) is an American science fiction author. He is best known for his Meg series, a set of novels around the fictitious survival of the megalodon, a giant prehistoric shark.
He is FUUUUU, part of the problem and not part of the solution.
