I may scoop out the front gutters, back of the house is too high for my ladder. Got everything else lashed to the deck, wild card is the pool cover but that's on tight. Doing wash now, cleaned old food out of the 'fridge, have a couple of things defrosting that will be eaten 1st if we lose power. Gotta make a minor beer run, 2 more bags of ice and I'm set.
2:20 PM, sky is about the same as it was earlier, lots of leaves are down and the wind is picking up.

...and we are still dealing with coastal flooding and 20-30 mph sustained winds down here....Gorgeous sunny day, however....
They are talking about potential power outages as far west as Chicago....Toronto peeps be on the lookout.....Seems like I remember hearing stories of a freak hurricane that hit up there back in the 50s....Chicago White Sox. 2005 World Series Champs!!
Chicago Blackhawks!! 2010, 2013 & 2015 Stanley Cup Champs!!!
Michigan State Spartans. 2007 NCAA Hockey Champs!!
Michigan State Spartans. 2014 Rose Bowl Champs!! 2015 Cotton Bowl Champs!!
Am I self-centered or is it just me?

Sunny here, but still having strong gusts of wind. In fact, the winds are suspected of causing an accident resulting in the death of an off-duty officer here in an area of west-ish Miami (Sweetwater).

R.I.P. Officer Brian Marrero.
Sweetwater, its police department/LEOs, city commissioner and mayor are all very near and dear to me.
Shocking, very sad news.

Not much happening here, some rain and gusts of wind and work is OPEN. I did get a rock-star parking spot though. My dad lives in an evacuation area out east of me 50 miles, so we went out and got him in the afternoon on Sunday, battened down his place as well. Dropped him off with my brother who is close to where I am. Gonna get worse as the day progresses I'm sure.

It is INSANE here. I've lived oceanfront my whole life and I have never seen anything like it.
Bloody Mary breakfast and Blackberry Brandy lunch.
And EggsBenedict/Florentine. My girlfriend bought english muffins because the bread aisle at the supermarket was empty.
She is a very good cook.Paradise waits on the crest of a wave
And dropping a barbell he points to the sky

Of the workplaces that are open, most all of them are closing up shop at noon here in central PA.
Looks like the eye of the storm is tracking straight toward us, luckily it isn't as dangerous as what northern NJ and new england will be enduring.
Don't forget your common sense out there folks!________________________________________

This has the makings of one crazy event. Nothin' to do now but ride it out. Gotta keep some drains open around the property, anything we need to buy.. too late. Work is closed tomorrow, a plant closing so maybe it'll be on their dime. If we lose power, I doubt I'll be back to work this week at all.
