hey guys,
i just bought trader joe's acidopholous & probiotic complex.
i have read many of bb.com's own dvsness(i'm not stalking you i swear ) and the benefits she's posted on probiotic supps.
i get moon face easily after eating salt or a high carb meal prebed. she mentioned that probiotics help with this along with digestion/elimination.
how do i dose this?

yogurt is not really probiotics , just one of the components in them is in yogurt ..

For anyone considering probiotics, I would suggest doing some research and looking at more than the number of cultures that are mentioned on the product label. IMO the key is trying to figure out which product is delivering the most live cultures to the intestines.
I am going to give Natrol BioBeads and Enzymatic Therapy's Acidophilus Pearls 3 months each and try to evaluate the results.

I could talk for days on probiotics, their use, their benefits, etc. as I have been on very strong antibiotics for quite some time.
You get what you pay for with probiotics, much more so than other supplements. Good probiotics are usually refrigerated or frozen, and guarantee a given number of cells to be delivered.
Another "probiotic" that is fantastic that isn't mentioned much is Saccharomyces boulardii - it's actually a yeast (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saccharomyces_boulardii). It, unlike bacteria-based probiotics, is not destroyed by antibiotics in the gut. So, if you're like me, and taking large doses of antibiotics over a long term, then this type of probiotic becomes very beneficial (along with bacteria-based probiotics).
I also believe it's important to vary the strains being ingested and get as many different strains as possible. The human gut flora is composed of hundreds, if not thousands of different bugs, and there's no real way of knowing which ones you need and don't need. So, the more variation you can get in there, the better chance you have of optimizing the landscape.

hey guys, I was being treated for H.pylori so i was on triple therapy which are basicaly antibiotics for 2 weeks, Now that i'm done with that, I've read that i need to be on probiotics for awhile, so I bought this, country life power-dophilus probiotics, will this suffice? is it enough to take 2 capsuls daily? Also do i take them on empty stomach before eating , or after eating? thanks
