    Don't get 22kgs over stage weight in the offseason, kids... Dieting for 50 weeks takes its toll on your hard earned muscle.

    I've never competed once/year, but I will be from now on.

    So my year/s will look like this:

    8 month bulk
    4 month comp prep

    I will gain 2lbs/month on my bulk, so add a few extra LBS gain straight after comp, and that will leave me at a maximum of 25lbs over stage weight. Much better than 50lbs! =P

    i will be in Melbourne next week for 8 days. My mate stays in the Mentone area. I would really like to train at one of the better gyms in town. What would you recommend?

    I've never been there myself but I hear Doherty's gym is great, there's one in Dandenong which isn't too far from Mentone.

    Dohertys dandenong, is a decent gym, equipment is a bit old and you need to spend 10min trying to find matching plates tho. =P

    My mate Brett just told me a gym opened near him in Mentone and its really nice, plus he is friends with the owner as they eat at his Bistro, the Corner, from time to time. I am already hooked up. I still may try to hit up Doherty's once to grab a shirt and check it out since that's the once gym I am familiar with. Thanks for all the help!

    Out of curiosity what kind of feedback did you get from the judges (assuming you got some, not sure how IFBB works in that respect). It would be helpful to know what kinds of things they really liked in your physique as a bodybuilder

    I didn't ask TBH, but the head judge told me that my posing routine/presentation is what got me over the line in a close decision.

    Atta boy! I too am enjoying my off season.. toying with a few things and then it's back to the grind mid January.. Hopefully I'll have the same outcome you had in your show.. I've been runner up for a card too many times.. I'm hoping that my time is now!!
