That is what most women do.
The first years of a child's life are the most important and most formative years so the Mom or Dad (if mom is not around) should spend as much time with the child as possible. But once they go to school there is no reason why a mom cannot get a job during those hours.
I think OP is clumping a few bad apples in with ALL women being like that. I think there are more mom out there work and raise their kids than not.

yer cause someone who raises a kid purely on benefits with a father that wants nothing to do with it is the best role model you could have in a life.
if your a full time house wife cause your boyfriend/husband works fair play. if your sitting back on benefits popping kids out while the fathers are no where to be seen id say your doing your child a disservice ...
if your a stay at home mum your a house wife, your not a full time mummy.
if your a young girl who got knocked up by a guy who you barely know and dont speak to anymore your a "full time yummy mummy, yolo"
i dont believe the standard benefit claiming single young mum is a great parent. if a child grows up watching his mummy sit on her arse eating twinkies watching tele, its hardly inspiration to do well at school

im guessing OP doesnt have kids
in my opinion one parent needs to stay at home with the child until the age of 2 minimum. I fully object to any of my children going into daycare before this age (playgroup is fine but its usually 1/2 hours max per day). If people want kids, then they should be prepared to raise them properly and if need be put their careers on hold.
Also i wouldnt want my child developing a bond with a stranger at that age because its not fair on the child.
i work 60 hours a week, my wife works 15 hours a week and looks after the kids, i take care of them in the mornings whilst she does her 3 hours per day work. I manage a team of over 30 people and handle several million euros worth of payments a day and its way easier than running around after kids all morning. I am relived to go to work sometimes to get a break. I think my kids are great, brilliant behavior, i can only imagine what some parents have on their hands with kids brought up with no discipline, it must be really hard on the parents.
its harder than most jobs imo, just wait until you hear your child cry, that sound man, it goes through my ears, its like we are programmed to get stressed with their cries.

But does she label her role as 'a full time mom?' No, i doubt it, which is perfectly okay and it sounds like you got a great family. I'm talking about single mums who maybe have ONE kid, don't work, live off benefits/partner and claim its a 'full time job' while uploading a bazillion pics of their kids on ******** having the time of their life.

In my opinion, the reason why we are seeing so many spoilt, ungrateful, ******* (guys) and sloot (girls) kids these days is because we don't have enough stay-at-home moms.

Don't forget as they get older driving them around to all the different activities they are involved in, and the parent meetings at schools, and the social functions they get invited to. On top of that add taking care of their significant others, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping. If you were to break each job down and actually put a monetary figure on what it would cost you to pay someone else to do those things it would cost a fortune.

my mum raised me exceptionally well in every sense. I am very lucky to have her.
But she also managed to have a job (in addition to my father's larger earning job) for my whole life.
In fact, she has been made redundant from about 5 different companies in 18 years. But the point is she consistently worked.
Lol at stay as home mum hurr durr that's my life bs

"full time mummy" is standardly put as a job on ******** etc because thats how they "earn" there money.
most girls i know who have got bfs or w.e have put "house wife"
you get PAID for a JOB, SINGLE none working women get PAID to raise kids.
for the first year or 2 a woman should be there for there kids, if where talking the standard biological family. if the boyfriend earns enough why would the woman stress her out with taking kids to carers working then coming home and caring for the kids.

my mom was a stay at home mom.
she raised me and my 2 brothers. we all turned out very well.
i honestly think a stay at home mom does children alot of good, we SHOULD want women to be stay at home moms.
only problem is when they are stay at home and lazy moms. i remember when my mom raised me we would go on trips to park and beach, but also the post office alot because my mom helped a family friend run a small business, she also made some money for her help.
i have fond memories of helping her get stuff ready to get mailed.
when me and my brothers were in school she volunteered at our school
she ran every single fundraiser at our school the entire time me and my bros were there, she got us new sports equipment and a whole ****ing computer lab. . .
and it was more than just school barbecue days. we would have local businesses donate stuff. and i remember big radio station form our town coming and hosting a auction live and over the air from our school. all run by my mother.
every single teacher i had in middle school had told me my mother has done more for the school than most people who worked there ever would.
she then got a job when me and my bros were in highschool.
so being a full time housewife is not always bad OP.
if i can put my wife in a position where she can give my kids what i had i would do it in a ****ing heartbeat without a second thought.

maternity pay really pisses me off. why should the employer have to pay someone there wage for 3 months while the woman is at home with a kid that she CHOSE to have. and then have to pay someone on a temporary contract to do the womans job until she comes back, which she might not even do
when i worked in a bookies i was doing rediculous hours covering shifts as we had 5 people off on maternity leave in the town and i was helping cover other shops

My jimmies feel this pain, no hate on hardworking mums but 90% of the ones in my town are the type that follow the ol 'baby and a man, check, time to get fat' lifestyle.
Hardest job ever, brb

Are you serious???? Do you even have the slightest clue what a woman's body goes through during child birth? Please not a single man has the right to express an opinion on something they will never ever have the opportunity to experience. Passing the biggest kidney stone in the world is still a walk in the park compared to childbirth.
3 months maternity leave is totally acceptable, it give the mom time to recover and time to bond with the child.
I find it funny that a bunch of males discussing motherhood. That's like me trying to have an opinion on male issues. Since I am not a man I will never ever know what you guys will experience and cannot comment with confidence that I know.
