It is possible just MUCH harder. Most likely you'll just get to the sleep paralysis stage but not the lucid dreaming stage. I forget the exact science behind why it works better after waking up in the night, but i can assure you it does.
So all in all, you're better off just setting you're alarm for 4 - 6 hours after you first go to sleep."If our brains were simple enough for us to easily understand, we would be so simple that we couldn't understand them"

had a few lucid dreams on accident. normally i would just wake up when i realize its a dream. 1 time i ****ed 2 bitches but wokeup when i couldnt get my dick in her butthole for like 5 minutes. the other time i realize i was in the dream and immedietely started flying around the room in my chair. i noticed no reactions from the other people that were in my dream previously and it creeped me out so i woke myself up. afterwards was mad i woke myself up for not ****ing one of the chicks in the dream lolol. anyway dreams are kinda scary brah.

Got *SoClose* last night. Imagined I was falling off the world trade centre, head felt like it was 100kg, huge pressure into bed, body went numb and felt small vibrations at times, then I tried to move my arm, real life arm moved
Then tried again but couldn't stop thinking about the drawings, and the drawing with the guy dreaming of the bish made me lol and had to restart once again lol.
Edit: As I was getting to the final stage/numb/vibrations.... I started getting the weirdest boner (deadsrs)..... Pls explain..☼♫►♀▓ TRIPPIN BALLZ CREW ▓♀►♫☼

Oh lawd this actually happened to me this morning. I wasn't very far into sleep paralysis but i could definitely feel it starting to begin. Well it stopped just as quickly as it started after my diick started throbbing lol. Srs like every few seconds it would throb and get a bit harder, completely ruining my concentration. (no homo)
****ing pissed me off, first time it's happened though so im not worried."If our brains were simple enough for us to easily understand, we would be so simple that we couldn't understand them"

It's pretty impossible to keep your eyes completely still (when closed). At least it was when i first started, just try not to focus on it to much. try to focus on your breathing more. A bit of eye movement here and there won't harm your progress, just don't start darting your eyes around like crazy. But yes the stiller you keep your eyes, the better your chances
Don't move your tongue.
Breathing is how i stay focused and keep my mind from wandering. Just keep a constant breathing rhythm from the very start and don't change how fast/slow you breath.
Don't manually swallow your spit, leave it in your mouth for a while and you'll find your body will naturally swallow it when it gets to full. Srs it just happens, you don't need to move anything in your mouth. Again don't focus on it and eventually it will sort it self out.Last edited by DMere123; 06-10-2012 at 01:07 AM.

So glad I saw this thread!
I've always been pretty 'aware' in dreams and will often know that I'm dreaming (maybe once a week or so). I've also experienced the paralysis stage a few times but always freaked out and managed to wake myself up.
Tried the stages shown in the first post early hours of this morning and it worked, this time though when I got into the paralysis stage and couldn't move I didn't freak out, I was just trying my hardest to create a scenario. At first though it was though I was looking at the dream through a small window and I was having to really concentrate to get in there! When I did get in it only seemed like it lasted maybe a minute or so but it was so vivid.
When I woke up I started telling my mrs about it as she was already awake but I was still dreaming! Woke up again and did the hold nose and breath reality check rand then had to tell it again! Ha!
Looking forward to tonight already!! Thanks OP!

Im assuming you were following OP's advice on moving your arm when you reach heavy paralysis? Yeah im a bit sceptical about that actually. Not saying it doesn't work but this thread was the first time i'd ever heard of that method. Next time you try don't move at all and just really visualize the place you want to enter in your dream, putting all your energy into it. Imagine your body lifting up/falling down into your chosen place.
And don't get too excited, that is always my downfall...."If our brains were simple enough for us to easily understand, we would be so simple that we couldn't understand them"

I've been doing the reality checks every day since this thread but haven't done it in a dream yet. =( I'll keep trying.
My first SP episode when I was a kid I saw the Devil with horns at the foot of my bed staring at me. (srs)
It's happend to me so much since then that I don't see or hear anything anymore when in SP. I used to see the shadow figures and heard creepy laughs. Also got choked alot and would wake up with my throat still hurting as if hands were actually placed on it.
I think I've trained myself over the years to just ignore the SP and go back to sleep that it's hindering me trying to have a a lucid dream now.

You can use your experience with sleep paralysis to your advantage. Considering it doesn't phase you that much anymore and you have experience/know how to handle it now, it most likely won't excite you and/or make your heart beat faster. When you're trying to get from the SP stage to lucid dreaming your excitement won't interfere with the process and snap you out of it.

the sleep paralysis freaks me out too much. i had it just 30 minutes ago. one thing ive noticed, is during normal nightmares I wake up. but the only time i get sleep paralysis is when it has to do with demons, and this one did. actually i had two with the same demon, and the first one I woke up normal. all i remember is the demon was purple
