This seems pretty cool.
Well I'm Albert. My native language is Spanish and I recently started to really focus on learning Italian. I am semi fluent in it as it is really easy to pick up and will be doing my second course of it at my university this upcoming semester. I tried to learn Japanese but the program that I took went way too fast for me so I didn't really pick much up.
Languages I want to eventually be Fluent in are Italian, Portuguese and French. Seeing as I already know Spanish and English that would make me fluent in 5 languages. Hope to get to know you guys better!

Native Language: English
Learning: Mandarin (feck it I want to learn French, Russian, Korean, Japanese, and a bunch more too)
Learn Mandarin
Here are some of my favorite links with a brief description of each. PM with any questions!
Chinese Pod http://chinesepod.com/index2?utm_expid=2973900-2
I only give this link to show you what I am talking about. I would highly suggest putting on your eyepatch and peg leg to download this for a 100% discount. Included are informational podcasts and a followup discussion, as well as transcripts for each podcast.
Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Courses http://gloss.dliflc.edu/Default.aspx
From their website: lessons are developed for independent learners to provide them with the learning/teaching tools for improving their foreign language skills. Reading and listening lessons are based on authentic materials (articles, TV reports, radio broadcasts, etc.) and consist of 4 to 6 activities.
University of Iowa Chinese Reading Material http://collections.uiowa.edu/chinese/index.html
One of my personal favorites. Tons of sample reading materials in levels ranging from very basic to very advanced. Awesome chit.
Mandarin Word of the Day http://www.transparent.com/wotd/today/chinese.html
Who says you have to do everything at once? Learn a new vocab word every day. Simple way to expand your knowledge.
FSI Language Courses (Mandarin) http://www.fsi-language-courses.org/Content.php
From their website: This course is designed to give a practical command of spoken Standard Chinese. Nine situational modules form the core of the course. Each core module consists of tapes, a student textbook, and a workbook. In addition to the core modules, there is a resource module and eight optional modules.
Very comprehensive, an entire course covered on almost every end. Haven't really used this myself, as it looks kind of dull. Still very good as an allover standalone course.
YellowBridge Flashcards http://www.yellowbridge.com/chinese/flashcards.php
Shit load of awesome, relevant flashcards. They come from popular textbooks, which just makes it all the more helpful.
Learn Chinese Songs http://www.chinese-tools.com/songs
Sing along with popular Chinese songs, the lyrics are displayed in pinyin, characters, and if you hover over them, a comprehensible English translation.
Online Language Exchange http://www.mylanguageexchange.com/
Find yourself a language partner! I found one from somewhere in China, and we both sent emails and corrected each other (he corrected my Mandarin, I corrected his English!) Was pretty fun.
Character Input by Drawing http://www.chinese-tools.com/tools/mouse.html
You don't know what a character is? Just use your mouse to draw it, and boom.
Chinese Talk Radio http://tunein.com/search/?id=g337&filter=&so=0
Listen to some Chinese radio straight from China. Quality input = quality output.Last edited by Skinkboy; 06-07-2012 at 09:23 PM.

Nice idea for a thread! In on this.
My name is Ricardo.
My native language is Spanish, but I'm actually better in English, and I also know French. I'm fluent in all three and I've tried learning Japanese and German with RosettaStone but both times I stopped early on since I simply had no time.
My main focus right now is to learn Italian and then I'll move onto learning Portuguese.╔════════════════ ஜ۩۞۩ஜ ═════════════════╗

I'm an Aussie brah. My native language is English.
I'm currently learning Japanese.
I have been to Japan 3 times now. I am self taught. I learn the spoken language mostly through listening to podcasts, youtube videos, and Japanese anime and movies. The written language I am hopeless with.
I only speak enough to get me through basic conversation. (Ie: asking for directions, and then understanding said directions. ordering things at a restaurant, etc)** Game of Thrones crew **

In! My name's Marco.
My native language is English and I've been learning Italian for the last four or so years.
Want to be fluent badly, wanna go study over there and try find work maybe (although I know the situation for work isn't very good over there at the moment).
Good site I just got onto is www.italki.com, I've found a stack of pen-pals that I write to in Italian, they correct my mistakes, then they write to me in English and I correct theirs. Great way to learn.
Also I downloaded the TuneIn app for my iPhone and have been listening to a stack of italian talk-shows almost all day, it's helping a lot so far
If any miscers are struggling to stay motivated to learn their language, I'd suggest a short trip to wherever that language is spoken fluently. Went to Italy two years ago and since then theirs been no looking back- Like Mike.

Learn Korean
Korean Learning pack
http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/6208988
-the best book in this package is the Colloquial Korean PDF
-i have gained the most from that file
Korean Pimsleur
http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/49610..._Korean_I___II
-probably the most effective way to learn phrases and learn how to have basic conversations.
Learning the Alphabet
I would recommend against using Rosetta Stone. It is the biggest hock of sht.
