Hey Luke. Congrats on the pro card and I'm really looking forward to seeing your pro debut!! You may or may not remember me, but I competed against you in the 2009 INBF WA state open. I wanted to personally thank you for the ass whooping you delivered to me on that day. I remember prior to that show, had a good amount of dead lifting experience, but as time went on I started following the arnold encyclopedia for my contest prep. So my heavy deadlifting kinda went out the window. Big mistake for a natural. I started watching you like Arnold watches Lou shortly after the show and I was like, "WOW look at all that deadlifting. Hmmm." In the last few years I feel I've really learned a ton from you and other quality natty BBers so thank you for that as well. You inspired me to really pound away and recently I got myself a 405 x 11 PR on the deads. Still a good long ways away from you, and my goal is 405 x 20 and without someone like you to motivate me, I don't think I'd ever set a goal that lofty. Anyways, yada yada yada. You are looking great and you are going to do very well on the pro stage. Peace.

Hey Robert!! Really appreciate that and I remeber talking to you at the show. I think you have the right mind set, keeping deads and heavy compounds. Like everything, take something from every style and mold it to fit your needs. It seems like everyone thinks that just because you compete in the sport of "Bodybuilding" That you have to train different than a powerlifter or strongman. You should see some of the comments I have been getting on all of my vids on YouTube, I usually just end up erasing them all....lol So to see a positive, I really want to thank you Keep killing it and I'll be watching your progress, remember to have fun with it too!Lukus Ehlis

In regards to you feeling better than ever at this level of BF, do you think it is a result of you getting in shape sooner than before? And as a result of that( if applicable) have you been bringing carbs/calories up? Or have you just been rolling along without making any changes? I'd like to hear more about those aspects of your diet as I'm sure many others would.
