Do imagine though if another tsunami hit the area in the next ~20 years it takes to clean it up....

All that debris and nuclear waste is getting swept out to sea / left to burn in open air....

You and the guy above me are missing a major point another miscer pointed out. To put it more simply you can imagine the sarco****us to an individual wearing very tight pants. Where upon erection a bulge begins to form

can't they just take all the nuclear splooge and put it on the moon? They could fund the mission by getting major advertisers to pony up the $$$ to have their logo etched on the moon, it'd be bad ass to look up at night and see the coca cola or nike logo up there.

Fukushima is much more serious than we are being led to believe. Fukushima Diary is an excellent source of information. Together with Arnie Gunderson at Fairewinds, they are both trying to keep this issue alive.

Information is starting to leak out that radioactive materials may have melted through the core, through the concrete subarea (sub-basement) and into the soil where there is no containment possible at this point. If true, it could truly be a China Syndrome meltdown in the making.

We are in uncharted territory with a pack of pathological liars at the helm.

    Cliffs;

Fukushima disaster is a big deal
    Reactor 4 in meltdown
Reactor 2 100% liquid - never seen before in physics
    Japan is fuarkked
If radiation leaks into the ocean, 1/3 of water on earth could become contaminated
possibility for liquid radiation to move into gas form
    85X more powerful than Chernobyl
    Little reported in mainstream media
Another earthquake near site could have world wide devastation
    Currently no containment

    Draw your own conclusions!

its not fear mongering when Michu Kaku himself has likened the situation to someone hanging on a cliff by their fingernails. He called his own people from japan labrats, as they are essentially unaware of the scope of this disaster

it may or may not be true, of course I cant confirm 100% as the evidence is based off of multiple, possibly unreliable sources. None of that info is my opinion, I do not have the background to make any conclusions so think for yourself and decide how big of a deal this is.

    Cliffs;

Fukushima disaster is a big deal
    Reactor 4 in meltdown
Reactor 2 100% liquid - never seen before in physics
    Japan is fuarkked
If radiation leaks into the ocean, 1/3 of water on earth could become contaminated
possibility for liquid radiation to move into gas form
    85X more powerful than Chernobyl
    Little reported in mainstream media
Another earthquake near site could have world wide devastation
    Currently no containment

    Draw your own conclusions!
fortunately the dangerous isotopes dont bond too well with water vapor.

if there was a fire (carbon), then the isotopes would easily bond with carbon (carbon dioxide) and be very dangerous over a wide area.

Good stuff, please go into greater detail. From my understanding, the boiling point of uranium is 4,134 degree C, would that cause something in the surrounding area to catch on fire and thus be dangerous?

you must be talking about this article, which is not the one you linked to. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiati...clear_disaster
In this article Von Hippel is refering the total amount of specific types of radiation that had already released into the air by February 2012. This has nothing to do with the potential amount of radiation leakage that could occure if Fukushima #4's spent fuel pool gets exposed and starts a radiation fire or explodes and starts a chain reaction of detonating the other reactors. The quote you're referring to has nothing to do with this current situation.

Either the diplomat is even way more scientifically illiterate than I am, or someone with specialised knowledge in this area is going to school me ITT.
admits to being scientifically illiterate. begins to make massive conclusions that would require large amounts of scientific knowledge to even estimate. ok.

Well it must have been bad since they're closing/closed all other nuclear power stations.
