does lifting weights Carry over to real life activities such as wrestling or throwing a punch....looking for opinions as me and my frierd always argue about this

I feel there will always be some carryover. Like my job. Since I've actually been consistant with working out since starting the job I'm at now, things like lifting 80lb bags of concrete, 5 gal pales of joint compound and such has gotten easier.
Other things, like the throwing a punch you mentioned, it's not quite as much considering the amount of power and coordination of the entire body and all the muscles it takes to truly throw the most powerful punch possible."When my opponent contracts, I expand. And when he expands, I contract.
