Why brah? I am not huge on htc phones. I am not likely about to wait on blackberry or iphone in the fall. I am still thinking S3 unless the others come out sooner rather then later. I heard a source saying the version in America may only be dual core. If this is the case, I'll consider one x as well or may wait for iphone5.

Anyone on Sprint have insurance on their phone. I was wondering if its really necessary to keep paying it or am I just throwing $8 away every month?

Really depends on your location or if you want 4G speeds.
AT@T 4G markets are not anywhere close to me whatsoever and are way behind Verizon in most smaller markets. Sprint is next to non-existent with 4G and AT@T is way behind big red.
We got 4G here from Verizon recently and I was shocked, wasn't expecting it for a year or two. 15K people in my town and next closest city with 50K population is 200 miles away. It is alot faster for the same price. I think the closest city with AT@T 4G for me is over 600 miles away.Keymaster of platinum accounts

In my mind the S3 isn't bringing anything to the table that the One X hasn't had for a couple months already. Great build and a better screen, wouldn't blame anyone for going HTC this round.
And please please please don't do the dual core vs. quad core thing, its pointless and doesn't work like you might expect it to. The AT&T version of the One X has a S4 dual core, and it performs just as good if not better than the quad core a9 in the international version. Krait is a much faster architecture than a9, the dual core One X and S3 variants will be more than fast enough for anything you want to do on your phone.

Drowned my Galaxy S2 in my pool --feels bad..
Everything works perfect - except for it won't connect to my mobile network/sim cards. Tried various, IMEI etc., doesn't show up. Basically useless as a phone, but still works with WIFI etc.,
Luckily I bought insurance for water damage. Will bring it in tomorrow.

Pretty much. I mean, let the first two cores run LTE and let the other two chill out but, I know technology doesnt work that way. Its not all that compelling. Aren't the one x all dual core? Not sure the point of this. I want the international versions and a lot of people are attacking the promotions of S3 since, they placed it up against other phones, S3 international vs stock model one x and the other phones. Not even the least bit fair a comparison. Still, assuming they work out the bugs on lte, S3 is likely my next phone. I feel like my current phone is complete garbage. I must admit, I've lost quite a few steps in the technology world. I have shifted gears in my career, new plans, and direction. Been out of IT for sometime and when I was it was a long ass time ago. Even then, it was level one tech stuff. Still learn some new stuff but, I am not an IT guy any more. Still, I am after a quad core phone. I find even some of the dual core phones to better then what blackberry has offered though, I have never been a huge htc fan. I think S2 is pretty awesome even still. I think too much hype surrounded S3 and the rumors were outrageous. Whatever I go with for my next phone will be quad core. Likely, I am not waiting till fall for the iphone. I do feel apple has been given a chance to take top spot especially in sales though, I do not believe it will be the better phone. Gallaxy >iphone imo and I am not just talking sales. Android leaves so much more user friendly though, the updates take awhile, and not much change is shown in apple. I wonder what A6 will bring?

I can't see how some can say the S3 sucks and turnaround and say look what HTC has done. Spec wise they are close HTC arguably has better display but other than that there similar. You breakdown design and HTC is full of fail 1) raised camera lens that will become scratched 2) lack of removable battery 3) lack of upgradable memory. What special features did HTC add to ICS to make it better? I can say that the worst thing Samsung did was air that presentation for the time they had it came across very disconjointed which is alot of the reason the tech and blog sites had such poor reviews which affected public perception. I think if you really looked at the 2 phones list of features there is no way the HTC One can compete with the S3.
Just a quick add for some of the questions - @ayekay - you could try to find a deal on Ebay
@cspanky - before you switch from AT&T are you grandfathered into unlimited data if so you're gonna effectively get knocked down to 2GB per month for same price.

Nice analysis brah. I think too much was expected of S3. It was as some source provided, a nice upgrade but, not like many rumors suggested of a 12mega pixel camera + a wack load of other perks. If someone is still with S2, probably better off holding out till the next generation Nexus or something else comes out. I for one am upgrading in the near future to either that london or blade possibly but, more then likely S3 or Iphone5. Looking to see what my business offers on their corporate plan. Imo too much was expected and even then, it would have not delivered. Which ever is the American quad core phone, I will be going with since, I need more ****ing power.
When I see my next phone, I want my opinion to look like:

The One X's display is, without a hint of hyperbole, the best I've ever seen on a phone. Full stop. Seriously, I'm struggling to find fault with it in any way: it's got a near-perfect 180 degree viewing angle and perhaps the most accurate color reproduction and color temperature available. At 720p, it falls well into "retina" territory where the individual pixels become invisible to the naked eye. It also lacks the infamous pentile subpixel arrangement commonly employed on high-resolution AMOLEDs like that found on the One S, and it runs circles around the Galaxy Nexus's 4.65-inch Super AMOLED for overall quality.
Historically, one of the big reasons manufacturers have chosen AMOLED over LCD is because AMOLED is thinner — it's self-illuminating, so there's no need for an external lighting arrangement. Considering that the One X packs its SLCD into an 8.9mm shell, though, that concern has all but evaporated (compare it to the 720p Rezound, for instance, at a beefy 13.7mm).Jeremy Lin Crew

Phil at Android Central says the HTC One X screen is great as well. Must see this one in person.
SAMOLED has pretty crappy color accuracy IMO. Blacks are black though which is nice.rumpler of stiltskins

here is the one im using currently the lastest version 2.42 works fine and lets u download and use the dsp plugin if needed(but if ur on 2.3 u dont need it)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/kblkwz
i saw the htc one x with lte in the store last week and i can honestly say its the best screen, its really a next level screen, very sharp you cant see pixelization also the colors are saturated but still natural so it looks very vibrant with realistic pictures. and on top of that the screen is optically laminated and the viewing angles are unlimited it looks like the screen is floating on the surfaceHATERS TRYIN TO DEPLETE MY SHINE LIKE VENETIAN BLINDS, BUT SON DO WHAT THE SUN DO RISE┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐
