Cars are put back to stock for many reasons
-Warrantied work
-Parted out for more cash when selling
-Just get tired of the attention
But that doesn't mean it was never raced. Again, why did it require a new engine? How often do what is it, ej20(?), blow before 120K miles?

You aren't listening to reality. GTFO if you aren't going to listen to what people are telling you and you are taking the word of the person selling you the car instead of neutral parties.
Facts:
1) The engine blew
2) New/rebuilt engine installed
3) Carfax would never show anything about this regardless
4) Other components would have been used hard if engine was driven or neglected to the point it destroyed itself
5) Car is overpriced for being returned to usable condition, you don't pay extra for something that works beyond the price of the car

Op- i paid 13,000 for my 04 with 62k miles on the body and 3k on the new 2.5l sti shortblock
I would stay away from that car 119k is way wayyyyyy too high for that price. Also the tranny is garbage and with 119k miles and a blown engine i would genuinely not be suprised if you broke 3rd gear within your first month of owning it. To give you an idea my tranny exploded 3 days after i bought the car. Of course this was at nearly twice the power levels of this car but still. Its a good thing i bought an 04 6-speed before i even bought the car lol.
If you want a wrx i suggest you find someone with good feedback on nasioc dot com and buy it from them. Also have 5 grand ready to go when the tranny or pistons go.miscin' since 07.....
s2k all day
