1. Stand Van Gundy is an idiot
NBA superstar vs Coach-->superstar undefeated
2. No Big names at the top of the Master's leaderboard
3. Bulls beat C's w/o Rose
Can we skip straight to the conference finals in the East
4. Sox will regret not signing Papelbon
Didn't want to give him 12.5mil/year but pay Crawford 20+, Becket 15+, Lackey 15+, DiceK 19+ (including posting fee)

1. I love what Stan did. He's gone either way so why should he care if it creates a circus. Howard is terrified of looking like the bad guy, hence why he stayed. Stan called him out on his BS and now he can't sit there and deny it anymore. I say good for Van Gundy.
2. No worries, it's not even the weekend yet. Westwood is good though. Plenty of guys still in striking distance.
3. Bulls do seem to play well without Rose. It'll be interesting to see how the dynamics change when he finally gets back. He's a scoring point guard so more guys tend to get involved when he's out. Hopefully that will translate to him having a little more help come playoff time.
4. Papelbon is good and I think they'll miss him no matter who they sign to fill the void.Like success, failure is many things to many people. With a positive mental attitude, failure is a learning experience, a rung on the ladder, a plateau at which to get your thoughts in order and prepare to try again. - W. Clement Stone

haha no offence taken mate, I'm used to it "
It was a great win. Other than a few stupid mistakes towards the end, they were brilliant (they tightened up their defence big time, which has been their weakest point by far).
And second that re: dessie (the k***), I hate the dogs with a passion (I almost end up punching on with their fans every time I go to one of their games v the rapists). You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel.

1. I am so fking tired of the Orlando Magic and all their bull$hit.
2. I like that, but I have to admit that I also enjoy watching Sunday Tiger near the top. Either way the masters is the best golf tournament of the year.
3. Bring on Miami. A healthy Bulls team has a chance. I'm willing to drop a few hundred on a playoff ticket but I don't know that it'll be enough.
4. Theo Epstein is overrated as a GM - the team north of mine will find that out very soon.

Howard also gets hacked... a lot. Howard is still a young guy and he has a pretty loose personality. I think he'd do well if he was paired up with another veteran star who could help him a little with his personality.
I don't think it is really fair to judge what Howard did or didn't do when we have almost no details. If the management approached him and asked him if he'd stay if Van Gundy was gone and he said yes, then is there something wrong with that? No, imo. The whole circus he created was pretty ridiculous, but if they asked and he said he'd want to play for someone else then is that really that bad? Even Magic Johnson demanded a coaching change and it paid off. Although, I've never been a Van Gundy fan(either of them).

1. SVG just took Paul Pierce's nickname. He is now known as Stan "The Truth" Van Gundy.
2. If I'm not hammered at a country club, gold doesn't concern me
3. Bulls look good playing that sort of Hoosier Ball. But in crunch time, they'll put it in Rose's hands and let him iso against LBJ. Big mistake, saw it last year.
4. RANGERS 1-0! Maybe we'll get another couple "one strike away" chances again this year.America's Team Always - Dallas Cowboys

easy to say #4 now that Madson is injured. But its arguable that Madson is just as good as Papelbon and was had at a cheaper price.
Sports thoughts for the day: Hopefully the Warriors keep losing, Demarcus Cousins is definitely right about Griffin being babied by the entire NBA, could the Grizzlies be NBA contenders?3K+

Don't see them winning a title.
Making it to the Western semis, yes.
Power Rankings
1. heat
2. Bulls
3. Thunder
4. Lakers
5. Spurs
You need a big time star (most of the time multiple) to win in the NBA and Memphis doesnt have one. Only team in history (practically) to win without a top-5 or so player, was the Pistons. But even they had the Defensive POY, and a top PG. Marc Gasol isnt a superstar talent.Last edited by determined4000; 04-07-2012 at 01:36 AM.

Happy to see Bubba win
Happier to see Tiger struggle and kick his clubs like the brat he is
Daring prediction: Not only will Tiger no match Jack, he won't win ANY more Majors.
14 different Major winners in last 14 MajorsLast edited by determined4000; 04-09-2012 at 10:58 PM.
