RP email: "Just hours ago, St. Louis City and Jackson County – the second largest county in the state – held their caucuses to elect delegates to the Congressional District and State Conventions.
The results?
*** In St. Louis City, my supporters completely SWEPT the caucus – winning ALL 36 delegates and alternates to the District and State Conventions;
*** In Jackson County, after five hours of caucusing, my supporters won the overwhelming majority of delegates, doubling the number of the next closest candidate."*** Misc CIGAR Crew ***

Too bad that Romney will probably get the nomination. there is no way he'll win over obama (as bad as he currently is, romney is worst. You guys should be glad that John McCain isn't the prez).

because...the only way I can see that we can legitimately change things in this country is a bloody revolution. Being nice, peaceful and such doesn't work. We have to stand up and stomp out the wrong doers.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's the only way I see that actual change can come about (looking at history, that's what it took).

Incorrect, in fact the majority of violent revolutions resulted in more authoritarian regimes, because it tends to divide a population amongst itself, thus making a nation ripe for exploitation by a potential dictator.
Examples: Maoist revolution, Bolshevik revolution, Castro's revolution, etc. When all that says 'it is good' has been debunked, what says 'I want' remains.

Yeah, but compared to the US military the population is very poorly armed.
The bigger problem with revolution is that even if you overthrow this government, you have absolutely no way of guaranteeing the next one is more libertarian.
Paul has made some inroads into people's minds, but its still very small as a percentage of the population. When you look at the number of people who still support Obama, Santorum, Gingrich, etc it is still a huge majority, close to 70-80% of voters. There's a long way to go in convincing people that government isn't doing what's best for them, and never will.
Once that mindset is the majority, then someone like Paul will win easily. So the revolution needs to be almost entirely mental at this point, not physical.
Now if you have 90% of the population believing in liberty, and the government still refused to acknowledge and respect that, THEN it would make a physical revolution sensible. Until then, its pointless to physically revolt. When all that says 'it is good' has been debunked, what says 'I want' remains.

I also attended a BPOU convention in Minnesota on March 24th, but my experience was calm compared to the video above: no yelling, screaming, or people disobeying Robert's Rules.
Ron Paul people in my area had great organization and we obliterated that convention. Preliminary results indicate Ron Paul delegates were elected to about 85% of delegate spots. My brother and I were elected as well. Also several libertarian candidates with ties to Ron Paul campaign were elected to executive positions. Feels good man.
Between all the speeches, the clapping, registration, voting, and adaptation of the rules and the constitution, the whole process took longer than six hours.
Good luck to everyone who has an upcoming BPOU convention. If you have not done so already, for best results my advice is to get in contact with the Ron Paul campaign."Every man I meet is my superior in some way. In that, I learn of him." - Emerson

I agree with your statement here.
I feel the biggest hurdle is the baby boomers having the most to lose if status quo is upset and they are the majority vote. They won't elect someone that is going to shake things up, they are too afraid and many boomers are too proud thinking they did something magical, mistaking inflation for growth.
Until boomers feel deep, long term financial pain or die off I don't see status quo changing. Surely I'm not saying that all boomers are wealthy but the reality is the bulk of the money is in the hands of the elite boomers, yet for some reason they refuse to retire. The ones that can retire but hang on to collect their larege 6 figure salaries are quite damning to the economy as I see it. They are keeping younger people from moving up and buying their own McMansion's etc... Many are also doing jobs that IMO are fundamentally impractical. Take a $250k per year boomer that doesn't serve a crucial function and cut that money up evenly...you now can hire 5 tangible workers at $50k per year. I'd suggest 5 well paid workers do more for an economy than 1 wealthy worker that already has everything and is socking away for retirement. This is the core issue with the "99%" vs. the "1%" in my eyes.
JMHO of course.
