I was getting down on myself for gaining so turned that around and embraced the bulk for a week. I also went overboard during the weekend again. Gonna have to learn to control that. Anyway I gained 2.5 pounds which is not ideal but could be worse. Sitting at 160 right now and have restarted cutting again. I'm also giving my legs a rest from the treadmill this week as I've done it 5-6 days a week for the past 10 months. I will reach my goal. It just wont be by the end of this transformation period.

As I said earlier, going through the thought of losing water weight each week kinda sucks, so I'm going to be pushing my hydration up until the twelve weeks is coming to a close. Also, I just recently found carb backloading and I'm sorta implementing it in a similar style to intermittent fasting, and I'm way enjoying it. Such a beautiful day here. I left the gym and went down to the greenway and walked for about 30 minutes and soaked up some sunshine. Super motivated today since I realized I didn't lose any weight last week. My goal is to get down to 180 by May 1st (or below)...

Stalling out the last couple weeks it looks like; only down to 291; little less than a half a pound. I think I might be overestimating my calories burned by exercising; going to try eating just a little lighter and see if that gets things moving again.

Welp, where I'm currently staying, I asked for a scale and the one they had was ancient, not the digital kind. I stood on it before the front desk person could explain that it was meant for weighing luggage only, lol, objects weighing less than 100 lbs. After that I checked with 3 surrounding hotels. I made it sound like this was a really important challenge , but no dice. No scales. I head to another hotel tomorrow - hopefully I'll have better luck there.
I had my first legitimate 45 min cardio session since mid Feb today. feelsgood,people.

170.4 lbs this morning!! Almost there... I was hoping to break 170 by today, but should be there by the end of the week. I plan on eating out tonight at a new Indian restaurant. I know I'll be up a lb or 2 tomorrow, white rice does that in a bad way. Good thing I can be flexible on my IF routine and workout just before I go to dinner. I'm allowing 1200 cal for my feast.

Wow! I was able to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat! After last week's weigh in I stumbled a bit early on and had to work super hard the rest of the week to ensure this weigh in came through. Which it did, a little north of 192, I was probably too harsh on myself frankly. I go on vacation for a week starting Saturday so I'm banking on at least some water weight coming back. I contacted the fitness club where my wife and I used to go to (visiting friends where we used to live) and they'll give me a cut rate for the week we'll be out. Hopefully that'll keep me in check as well. These friends haven't seen me in 70 pounds. And they got to know me 125 pounds ago, so this should be fun.

Did a body fat measurement today, calipered out at 13.88% @ 170.4 lbs thats puts me at 146.7 lbs LBM, so I haven't lost any muscle. On track to be under 10% when I hit 160 lbs. Not sure I'll be there by May 1 but damn close.

we are roughly the same height & build also probably close in age.
What are your daily macs & how much lifting/cardio do you do?
I'm about 175 and calipered out at 13.5% (not sure how accurate that is) Puts me at about 150lbs of LBM.
I was at 158 once but so flat & dry eating too little and still no 6-pack.
After a week of eating 500 over maint and carbs I was 168 so i'm thinking i need to be close to 160 also.Last edited by NitrogenWidget; 03-22-2012 at 06:01 AM.

Sub 228 lbs this morning. Water weight is still coming off from last weekend and had chinese take out last night. More H20 today for certain. Salad for lunch and big protien dinner of some sort. I WILL be 225 by next Wednesday. It's looking like I'm going to miss my goal of 210 by 1 May. But 220 is within reach for sure and a big push may get me to 215 (My wrestling weight from HS!). That would be something! Still lifting heavy, but I'm going to add more cardio to my program. I enjoy being lazy and not doing cardio and just letting my diet do the work for me, but I need this to accelerate a bit as I'm still guessing I'm over 20% bf and I could afford to lose in the range of 2-3lbs per week which isn't happening on diet and weights alone. Stair-climber....HERE I COME!

Nitro, I'm shooting for 1760 now 180P/80F/80C. Puts me at 1-2 lbs a week loss.
I lift MWF for about 60 min. Squats/Bench/DL plus accessory work (I'm not doing any strict routine yet)
Tues - 45 min Yoga X workout
Thurs - 20-30 min cardio (treadmill, elliptical,bicycle) / plus half of Ab Ripper X (6 X 25)
Sat - 20-30 min Jump rope session / 100 push-ups / half of Ab Ripper X (6 X 25)
