I had blood work done over the weekend and received my results today. My test levels were low and my doc prescribed testosterone cyprionate. I am to take 1mL once a month. How will this affect my weight loss goals and will this dosage show any results in the gym. My liver enzymes were also elevated. Does anyone know of any supplements that might cause this? I would also like to say that cholesterol levels and kidney function were perfect. I guess that disproves the whole low carb and high fat diet is bad on your cholesterol levels.

I can't answer a whole lot other than the test cyp. At that dose, prescribed from a Dr, it will only restore test levels to a normal functioning level. It will aid in over all health. You're not going blow up like a toad because of the dose. Test does aid in fat loss and is always used as a base in any cycle, cutting or bulking, but as said, this dose is to help boosts your test to a normal healthy level

You'll see some results, just because you lacked test production, so you'll feel better, stronger, more energy and that will all help in workouts, but its not the sane as running a gram a week.

Liver enzymes can be raised for many reasons. If you took aspirin, drank booze, or consumed any other substance can increase liver enzymes. Hepatitis and being obese can also raise liver enzymes.
As far as test goes, you should see an increase in lean mass and decrease in bodyfat but it's not going to melt off of you, but it will probably go easier.

The cypionaye esters is active for about 2-3 wks. Once a month dose at 250mg seems low. I'd get another opinion.

It's probably a low dose because he's @ 289. A lot of MDs out there don't prescribe for anything less than 250 (personally I think anything under 350-400 should be given testosterone depending on the patient's symptoms). My guess is the MD was debating whether or not to prescribe test or not, so he went with a low dose. Some MDs also like to start with a low dose and see what it does for the patient before being more aggressive.

Well, most general medicine docs might now be as schooled in proper dosing of test as an endocrine specialist would be. So, if the MD is a general medicine/family practice physician it might just be a matter of not having as much experience treating low-T patients as enodcrine specialist.
Then you add into the fact that there is a very big split in the medical industry on TRT. One side wants there to be extreme symptoms before treating, the other side prescribes TRT as more of a lifestyle aid and would like all men to be able to have test levels of that average 25 year old. There is evidence that men with higher test levels live longer and have less health issues. Keep in mind here' we're talking about TRT and AS, two different things.Vikings--Wolves-Gophers

didn't read most of the post so my apology for possibly repeating.
Test Cyp at that dose should not hinder any weight loss goals you have planned. In fact, higher testosterone in males can actually help you lose fat. The only weight gain you may see is the water, but again, at 1ml month, it is very low that you may experience this water gain. Injectable testosterone should not effect your liver as its injected into the blood stream.
Talk to your doctor about your goals and read about about Test cyp. there is a lot of good, useful information out there. If you're absent during my struggle, don't expect to be present during my success.

Find a knowledgeable forum for HRT so you know the right questions to ask your doc. And 200mg every 4 weeks is probably one of the dumber protocols ive ever seen a dr. try to prescribe.

liver enzymes being elevated either comes from pain killers or steroids
stay clean for 6 weeks and youll be fine
also it cant hurt taking milk thistle for a month 2x a day that will help clean the system up

chances are if hes with a doctor, they will do monthly blood work to make sure his organs are safe.
As stated 200mg a mo is extremely low. 2-3 week half life on cyp. I've read that a normal HRT protocol is around 200-250 a week.
I would go to a few doctors for testing and get different opinions.
As far as gyno, that again would be something you tell your doctor. When dealing with something like AS it is best to write down all your worries and take them to your doctor rather a bb form. We can only help so muchIf you're absent during my struggle, don't expect to be present during my success.

I am definitely going to my doctor with all of my questions but it never hurts to ask here either. I have gotten some really helpful information from everyone. I actually read somewhere today that extensive excercise can raise your liver enzyme levels. I feel quite sure that a new diet and recently resuming strenous excercise has something to do with the liver enzymes. I guess I will just play it by ear. Thanks for all of the info!
