    Upperback growing fast from deadlifts

Is this normal? My upperback is growing a lot faster through deadlifts than the lower back. Does this normally happen with most people? I started doing them not too long ago... and it's definitely built thickness to my upperback ... something I could never have gotten with other exercises.

Same here, hamstrings and upper back is where I've really noticed the difference.

My midback got a lot thicker from deadlifting, and my lower back feels much better. Deadlifts are awesome.

At first when I started doing DL I could really feel it in the upper back, after a while (about 6 months) that went away and now i mostly feel it lower back.

Deadlifts give you mass all over. You may well be building your lower back more than your upper back proportional to the size of the muscle, but upper back growth is definately more noticable.

So one of the most important back exercises is making your back grow?

    Very unusual.
