For anyone in the Indiana area, my buddy owns a gym called MEAT HEDS. I forget what the acronym is stands for, but its a hardcore place. This video is from last year, its been updated a lot, to include bands, mono-lifts, flipping tires (up to 900lbs), a car Deadlift platform, and atlas stones.
The owners name is Bruno. Cool dude and strong deadlifter (just got 725 @ 242 all raw). I notice people asking about gyms like this, so I thought I would share.

Every litter in the video has won a competition, and set at least two state records. Some have set national records. Others that were not in the video that do train there are Gold Medal Winners on Team USA. Actually I think RJ Dowdell was in the video, he has set many records and won world championships.
Rocky Tilson also trains there. So does Dave Hansen. Kara bohigian said when she is in Indy again, that's where she will go.Best lifts at the end of 2011

Multiple federations. GPA, WPC, USAPL, etc
****to be clear, I can't keep track of all the federations around these days. But between all the guys in the gym, they compete in quite a few federations.****Last edited by CDT4; 02-29-2012 at 10:27 AM.

Win Nationals, and have a qualifying total, and you are invited to compete at Worlds to represent the US. If you accept, you are considered a member of Team USA, they put your name on their team list leading up to the competition, and they send you a jump suit, jacket, shirt, etc with your name, the federation, "team USA", the year, where the competition is taking place, etc stitched into it.
In 2011 the WPC Worlds was in Riga, Latvia.Best lifts at the end of 2011

Well I notice that this powerlifting forum so far is the most hostile that I've been in. From my studies in psychology I can guess why. There have been some unnecessary comments, some jokes, some people being rude. I, however, don't allow myself to be effected by such things.

At first I wondered what all the rude comments were about. Then I watched the video and saw a ton of isolation exercises, one guy pull 405 and someone half repping incline bench.
I won't say anything rude, but I can at least understand why. If you're going to put up a powerlifting video, I wouldnt suggest this one

The more recent jokes were funny
I dont take myself so seriously, though, which is why someone could go as far as to insult me on a personal level, and I wouldn't be offended, I would just ask why.
I agree that the video is ****ty. There will be a new one soon that is pretty hardcore. In the gym, we open a huge bay door to have natural lighting, there is always your choice of hardcore motivational music blasting crazy loud, blood (whether from hands, nose, etc) is common. I know the music sucked, I never liked it. I also don't agree with stuff like the half rep incline, or other bad lifts. But each guy follows his own routine, so there will always be something to disagree with.
Also, just to clarify, the 405 Deadlift was made by RJ, who weighs 155, and was having some hip pain that day. His best Deadlift is 550. I think the biggest Deadlift in the gym is 765 or 781, by Jeramie. Next is 725 by bruno, then 680 by Dave, 625 by brad, 610 by me, etc.
I'm just starting to think that maybe this thread was taken the wrong way. To clarify, I don't think its the best gym, or has the best lifters. I just think its a good gym with its share of good lifters. When the better video is available, I will post it.
Always open to new lifters, too. Anytime someone who knows their stuff cones in, they teach everyone else and we all try to learn from it.
Oh, I forgot, there is a real cool old guy named Bob who trains there. He is in his 60's, and honestly doesn't even look like he lifts. Made to pull, though. He has a 705 raw Deadlift (not even a belt).Best lifts at the end of 2011
