Naww, not at all. Creatine floods your muscle cells with water and aids in ATP replenishment. There is some water retention, but it's not a ridiculous amount like many people think.
The sugar-creatine phenomenon comes from the idea of an insulin spike to aid in the saturation of creatine in the muscles. It works somewhat if you "load" creatine, but that's wholly unnecessary. 3-5g/day is sufficient, and that dose will allow you to maintain saturation.
Creatine is for amateurs and pros alike. And it's cheap, really no reason not to use it :P. Just make sure you're at 4L of water per day, for health and cramping avoidance.

Cell-Tech is designed to give your body an insulin rush (from sugar) and drive the creatine into your body faster. If your new and looking to add some mass, I would recommend doing a solid 3-4 months on it while eating a lot. Follow the directions on the tub exactly. When I 1st started lifting I took cell-tech and blew up. I will admit I did add some fat but that was easily shredded away after. Go for the fruit punch flavor and try not to drink much alcohol while on this.
Creatine in general causes your body to hold more water thus resulting in better protein synthesis which will give you muscle.

I'd personally stay away from Cell-Tech. The 75g of Sugar is going to do you no good. Just get some creatine mono (Allmax like Valhalla said). It's TONS cheaper and will last you 6+months at 5g a day for $20. Cell-Tech will last you 30days for $49. If you REALLY want cell-tech. Get regular creatine mono, get grape juice from the grocery store, mix. That is literally all Cell-Tech is. Regular Creatine Monohydrate will do you just as good.
If you really want an insulin spike there are better and much cheaper ways to do it. But you do not need one for creatine.
And the typical disclaimer here: Diet trumps any supplement. Diet is 80% or more of your success with workout program being 15% and supps being 5%.

if you're new to this website. Celltech is a slang or code name for steroids because all the big names like cutler are sponsored by muscletech and swear by it i hope you havent been mislead, if you talking about the actual supplement, go with the above posts of straight monohydrate creatine

cell tech is not a steroid. a lot of people on these forums use the term "cell tech" sarcastically when they're referring to people who are on steroids and are lying about it, saying they're just using "cell tech".
and keep in mind, when people say "cell tech is 75g of sugar" they aren't referring to table sugar. they're referring to dextrose, which is the same "sugar" found in oatmeal.

I usually stay with good ol Creatine Mono (prolab) but I've been taking Universals Storm for the last two weeks and ive noticed a big difference in muscle fullness definition and stamina in the gym. I would recommend it to anyone. It's wayy cheaper then celtech to you can find it here in the bb.com store as well.
Then again everyone is different so you gotta find what works for you just like anything else."It's not the blood you spill it's the blood you share, your family, friendships, your community. These are the most valuable things a man can have."
