Huh? Every year they have a great chance at the cup. There time will never pass. There one of those teams that entire organizations admire and respect. San Jose has been the only team to stop them dead in their tracks the last two years and that's because of their coach ( former redwing assistant) know how their clock ticks, Their like Detroit's kryptonite. Now that San Jose has fallen flat on their face. I don't think anyone has the experience or skill to beat them without going 7games.

Canucks fans will try and correct you on them being soft by listing "hit" stats and mentioning the Western Conference, but I would agree with you and them to an extent. I would say that their top end talent is "soft", but they can play a physical game. However, does playing a physical game suit them?

They have an excellent chance of having the best record in the Western Conference during the regular season, but the playoffs could be a different story.

Vancouver won't make the finals this year because of their lack in skilled personel. They have the sundins and like one other guy. Chicago, and especially Detroit are loaded with highly skilled players. Both of their 4th lines are as good if not better then Vancouver's 3rd line. As far as the eastern conference goes. Boston has the nest chance to take that conference because of their superb goalie (Thomas) and the thug style of hockey. They rely on their strong checking and hopes of pulling good players into a fight to make up for their fair skill. Hell as long as its an original six team or Tampa ( because of Stevie Y) to make it to the cup game. I guess ill settle haha!
