Hey guys,
I'm an 18 year old female that is absolutely new to this and needs some expert advise. I've lost 23kilos over the past year going from 75kg to 52kg. I want to shred down to about 48-49 including muscle gain. I've decided to purchase L-Carnitine BSc brand to help me shred off the extra kgs. However, I want to purchase a protein which will prevent me from gaining weight. Something with less calories, fats, sugars, carbs..... which i can take just as protein top-up or even post exercise. I go to the gym about 3 times a week (which will be increasing once i get all my supplements). So any recommendations on protein?

No protein will make you gain/lose fat on it's own; Calories do that.
Check out the nutrition board and skim through the stickies, figure out your maitenance calories and your macros, then get a protein that fits your goals. ON Gold Standard, Trutein and MyoFusion, are few good ones.IsraeliKrav.com

amoula,
Trutein is one of the best - if not the best - protein on the market for weight loss. We sell tons to men and women looking to shed anywhere from 10-50lbs, including bariatric patients and even a contestants from the popular TV weight loss shows. Why? Because the casein and egg act synergistically to keep you feeling full. Trutein's one of the few blends on the market that does NOT hide the casein and egg (40% and 20% respectively) in an intentionally misleading "proprietary blend", and thus you actually NOTICE and FEEL the satiety-inducing effects of Trutein.
We're also the best tasting protein on the market - and one of the few that allow you to try before you buy - samples are at www.truscience.com/samples.html

while I understand the intentions behind this post, I just want to make things clear so that there are no misunderstandings: protein supplements like trutein and myofusion are not supplements for weight loss or weight gain. They are sources of protein and depending on the product also sources of carbs and fat which are meant to fill in the gaps in your diet depending on your daily caloric needs and macronutrient needs. This means that if you want to lose weight and are on a caloric deficit, then you can supplement with a protein like trutein or myofusion if it fits your macros and also if you might not have a chance to get it all from whole foods. Same goes for bulking when you are on a caloric surplus. You can also take it to bring something sweet into your diet to satisfy those cravings.

That's some nice work, Greg. Trying to take advantage of someone who doesn't have all the facts? Sounds like you're still practicing the same sales techniques you've always used.
Well, this woman is no 2/10 fitness model for you to knock up and photograph while she hides under the sheets, filled with regret at what she did after too many dirty girl scout shots and nothing but protein bars in her stomach after a 12 hour shift at a fitness expo. You won't be closing your eyes and imagining Jamie Eason while you dutifully pummel away at her rapidly deteriorating genitals.
OP, would you buy protein from this guy?

Amoula, you may want to try a whey protein isolate, as they are lower in carbohydrates and fat than blends. Additionally, research suggests that whey promotes greater fat oxidation and a higher rate of thermogenesis than 'sustained release' proteins. The study linked above suggests pure casein may be more filling than whey, so you may want to try that instead of a whey blend. Either way, other studies suggest whey can still be more filling than whole foods.
