Bad news for Branch and bodybuilding. He was really on a roll after winning the Arnold and his recent Olympia placings. Hopefully he'll be back for the Arnold and take the title again.
EPO all in my veins; Lately things just don’t seem the same; Actin’ funny, but I don’t know why; ’Scuse me while I pass this guy.

Wow, that is bad news for sure. I hope he really revamps his training style and realizes that something more akin to what Jay is doing might benefit him more in the long run. Yet I am not sure if he can do that at this point and his body might not respond as positively to that type of training as Jay's does.
Either way, though I am not a big fan of his flow, I am a big fan of his dedication and his conditioning and feel like the Olympia will be that much worse off because he is not there. But I am sure he will be back, because after all.....it is Warren mother****ing Branch. Keep your chin up bro.

This sucks, I was pulling for him this year...he's been kicking ass at the gym and looking INSANE every day I've been there when he was.
And it's not a full quad tendon tear from what I understand, hence the quick recoveryEverybody wanna be a bodybuilder, but nobody wanna lift no heavy ass weight!!!

2011 Arnold Classic Champion Branch Warren will be sitting out the 2011 Mr. Olympia on September 16 & 17 in Las Vegas. Warren was a favorite to challenge for the title, but with only four weeks to go he suffered a quad tear. As often is the case, the injury didn't happen in the gym; Warren was in Atlanta for a guest posing appearance and he slipped on wet pavement getting into a car.
After dominating the Arnold earlier in the year, Warren had his sights set on the sports biggest title: Mr. Olympia. This injury is tragic for bodybuilding fans across the globe that looked forward to seeing Warren's massive physique battling with the best in the world.
Everyone at FLEX wishes Warren a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him on stage next Spring to defend his Arnold Classic title!"Sometimes Italian dressing tastes so good to me, if you put it on a pregnant woman's toe I'd probably eat it." -Kai Greene

Not considering he will rush his comeback, have a good surgeon, and be on a ****load of cell tech (which DOES help recovery from this). Its still rushing it though. And LOL at tearing a quad...the dude had too big of legs already so this was a totally uncalled for injury.*

***Sunday afternoon update***
Doctors at Baylor Hospital in Texas diagnosed Branch Warrens leg injury as a torn quad tendon in his left leg. Warren will have surgery Monday morning. Doctors expect him to recover 100% and be able to return to the stage to defend the Arnold Classic title in March 2012.
"Branch is upbeat and relieved that he will be competing again in just seven months time," said Muscular Development Editor in Chief Steve Blechman who spoke to Warren after the diagnosis. "Branch is a fighter," said Blechman. "He will recover from this just like he recovered from his tricep injury. Its great news that he will be so soon after such a potentially devastating setback."
Warren says that if he feels up to it, he will call in to MD Radio Monday at 7 pm EDT/4 pm Pacific to give his fans the full story.
Saturday:
Today 2011 Arnold Classic Champion Branch Warren suffered a leg injury in Atlanta, Georgia.
Muscular Development Editor in Chief Steve Blechman has been in contact with Warren and has learned these latest details:
Warren was in Atlanta for a guest posing appearance. He was in a parking lot and attempting to step into his car. The pavement was slick and his left foot slipped out from under him. He fell onto his left leg and heard/felt a "SNAP" from his left knee/quad area. He was immediately taken to an Atlanta hospital for testing.
He has been released from the hospital and wearing a wrap around his left knee/quad. He is now trying to catch the earliest flight he can back to Texas where he plans to go directly to Baylor hospital to meet with his team of doctors to conduct more tests to ascertain the extent of the injury.
Mr. Blechman says that Warren is "upbeat" about the injury and its potential ramifications. Blechman will personally be contacting Warren throughout the weekend for any more updates.
We will be posting more updates on Branch Warren's injury as more information becomes available.
***Sunday morning update***
Branch Warren left Atlanta this morning at 10:30 Eastern and expects to meet with his team of doctors at Baylor Hospital immediately after landing in Texas (approximately 11:30 Central time.) After phone consultations with his doctors they are prepared to perform surgery tomorrow morning if they think it is necessary. Currently his knee is swollen and his leg is in a wrap. MuscularDevelopment.com will continue to provide updates to Warren's condition throughout today and in the days to come."Sometimes Italian dressing tastes so good to me, if you put it on a pregnant woman's toe I'd probably eat it." -Kai Greene

it's too bad, too. here branch trains a lot like dorian, and dorian will tell you nowadays (in fact he told mark dugdale in one week in the dungeon) that if he could go back and change a few things, he'd lower the intensity/train more safely leading up to the contest.
i like branch the man, but i'm not too big of a fan of branch the bodybuilder in the 21st century. i hope he comes back strong and changes a few things up in his training. he won't, though.

Wait - what am I missing here? Dorian and Branch do not train alike at all...
Dorian's philosophy on training is very different.
I can understand that - yes - they both go "balls to the wall" in the gym but, come on...
For anyone to conclude that they train similar, it just isn't true.
What is true is that they are both very INTENSE, in their own UNIQUE ways, but there's no way someone is going to tell me that they train similar.Train Hard! -

Suck b/c didn't he tear his tricep 4 weeks out from the 2008 Olympia? Came back stronger then ever though with no signs of damage. Vic's legs look exactly like they did b4 the injury I'm very confident that Branch will make a full recovery especially since he's undergoing surgery right away. lol at anyone who thinks Warren was ever assaulted by a drug dealer for not paying his tab when the guy owned a shipping company and is in remodling houses and selling them. The guy has money how else do you think he pays for these surgerys right away...brb can't pay drug dealer but gonna undergo super expensive surgery the next day...use some logic the guy isn't a loser.
