I was hoping for Randy to win this fight and keep his belt. But after watching Countdown and the determination on Gonzaga's face and the training he's doing. Randy gettin ktfo

I really think you have to becarefull in fully dismissing Randy -
Didn't a LOT of folks say "Randy getting ktfo" when he was going into fight Tim?

Gonzaga is no Chuck Liddel. He may hit just as hard, but he has no where near the striking skill. It's one thing to hit hard, it's another thing to get the punch to land.
He KTFO'd CroCop because no one saw a kick like that from Gonzaga before. It was a surprise tactic that worked wonderfully. It's like Tim Silvia's kick on Tray. It was pretty, but probably the only one you'll see. He's not known for his feet, only his hands, but now everyone will be watching his feet too. Good for him, since it's always good to have your opponent worried about as many things as possible, but I don't see him landing another one like that, especially on someone like Randy."What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ya have of God, and ye are not your own? Don't forget how improved Randy's striking has come going into the Sylvia fight. He schooled a heavy handed, longer reach, with several ko's under his belt Sylvia .
This fight is going to be exciting. It could definitely go either way. This should be a great ppv.Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman.

Kinda reminds you of Gracies last words though, huh?
"I'm curious to know how Matt Hughes gonna beat me. He keeps saying he gonna take me down, ground & pound, the judges gonna give it to him . . . I'd like to see that"
Made for a good sound bite, but that's about it. Here's hopin what happed to gracie doesn't happen to my man Randy."What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ya have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit which are God's"

You think he's hungrier than Tito was? Tito had more motivation than anybody after getting the belt stripped from him without ever being beaten. Didn't really matter though. Gonzaga might be hungry, but Randy was a way of breaking guys spirit, taking their heart. I think that is what will happen tomorrow. He will break Gonzaga over 4-5 rounds & either pound him out late in the fight or win the decision.

Royce Gracie is a legend, no doubt, but he comes from a different time when BJJ reigned supreme...it's not like that today. BJJ is still a huge part of the game, but everyone is at least knows a little BJJ, whereas in Royce's hayday, no one knew wtf was going on with that stuff. If we were to take Royce at his prime and put him in the UFC today, he wouldn't not be as dominant as he was. Nothing against the guy, he was a pioneer and one of the people who helped shape what MMA is...but he was very one dimensional.
Randy Couture is not even close to being similar to what Royce was in his day. Randy is a modern era fighter...yes, he's older but he's still well rounded and a good champion.
It's going to be a good fight...Randy has a better ground game than Cro Cop and he's used to elbows, etc. He might get taken down, he might get pounded...but he is more used to it than Cro Cop was and I don't think it will have the same effect on Randy that it did on Cro Cop.
Now, if Gonzaga can reproduce that RHK the way Cro Cop produces his destructive LHK, then everyone in the HW division is in trouble. Only time will tell.$157 billion creates 650,000 jobs = $240,000 cost to create or save 1 job

This is a tough one. My heart says Couture. I've only been really into MMA for about 6 months so I don't know much about it, but I can't help it... I love Couture. The dude just carries himself the way you are suppossed to. He doesn't look at his opponent as someone he hates, he looks at it as a challenge, he's won some huge upsets, and he's very humble from what I've seen. I know he's kind of everyone's fav; but it's hard not to like the guy. That said... anyone who thinks Randy is going to walk over Gonzaga is NUTS! Gonzaga is no friggin' joke. Sick sick sick Ju Jitsu, and he has drastically improved his stand up... ask Cro Cop, just make sure you ask him in his right ear because his left ear is probably still ringing from that head kick. On top of that the dude is a bad size match up. He is 6'2 244 lbs, and he's not a tub of lard like Silvia. He is quick, can move, and Randy is a small heavyweight. That said, Randy's preparation for his opponents is second to none. Whatever holes Gonzaga has in his game Randy will be ready to exploit. I think the stand up favors couture; but you certainly have to respect what Gonzaga can do. The problem for Randy is if he takes Gonzaga down and tries to ground and pound he risks getting caught in a submission. However, I've only seen Gonzaga on top thus far, I've never seen him on the bottom, but as a black belt in BJJ I'd assume he is comfortable there. I think to win the fight randy is going to have to stun him with a few shots on his feet & quickly take him down and start dropping elbows before Gonzaga can get into a comfortable guard.
I think the longer the fight goes on favors Couture with his conditioning & experience & grind it out style.
I think if it's a short fight Gonzaga probably wins it.
I also want to say that Randy is my favorite, but I really like Gonzaga too. He seems like a pretty cool guy, hasn't trash talked and he's fun to watch.

I still think Couture will be KO in the first round while he is swinging one of his wide overhand hooks.
The other possible outcome is that he gets submitted on the ground.
I wish I could explained better but what Randy did to Silvia was something that you would only understand if you are used to fight people with good boxing skills and sudendly you are fighting somebody with strange punching.
The tools that gave Randy the victory with Sylvia will be his doom with Gonzaga.

curious.
I assume you're talking about having a more technical boxing style (throwing shots straight down the pipe instead of looping punches)...I don't recall Gonzaga having great technical boxing.
Aside from that, Randy seemed to have adapted his boxing very well to an advantageous style vs. Sylvia. Sylvia has pretty boxing and Couture was able to completely get around that by preparing for it and adapting to it.
Are you predicting a punch KO from Gonzaga or kick? I'm assuming you think Gonzaga is going to KO Couture with his hands.....$157 billion creates 650,000 jobs = $240,000 cost to create or save 1 job

A punch in the chin will do and I hope Randy does not stand up again because he will probably get hurt.
People say that Randy will bring a different game plan but I always see Randy fighting the same way (kicks to the legs, wide punches and takedowns plus GNP). The only difference that I saw with Tim was his head movement (almost akward in some cases).
Randy is not the same Randy of years ago, unfortunately Tim could not take advange on that.
However, Gonzaga is unpredictable and he should be ready for any of Randy's tricks.
