I am currently taking this. It's been almost a week. So far I feel fuller/muscles feel heavier if that makes sense. They taste pretty good too.
My first inclination is to be nice, woe to the person who inspires me to go with my second - To get my way period.

My HICA-Max Experience
HICA-Max is the newest growth stimulation tablet to enter the market from Lee Labrada
Nutriton, maker of Humanogrowth.
HICA-Max comes in a chewable tablet form with 4 assorted fruit flavors these include:
Lime, Fruit, Watermelon, and Orange.
The suggested daily directions state to take 3-5 tablets per day, based according to
bodyweight, and on an empty stomach. The label advises users to not take HICA-Max
with protein or amino acids.
The three main ingredients of HICA-Max are: 500MG of HICA Leucic Acid, also known as
Alpha-Hydroxy-Isocproic Acid, artificial sugars Xylitol, at 1.5 Grams, and Sucralose.
The label states that the tablets contain 100% pharmaceutical grade leucic acid.
Leucic acid is a product of Leucine, which is an amino acid commonly found in fermented cheeses and wine.
According to the latest research, HICA has shown to be a potent anticatabolic
supplement with the ability to fight muscle soreness and help build lean muscle mass.
Study source : John Hopkins 1973, J Int Soc Sports Nutr. 2010.
These positive results may indicate that under proper dosage HICA may provide more muscle mass and less muscle breakdown or catabolism in athletes.
In comparison it is possible that the same effects of HICA may be achieved by increasing ones intake of L-Leucine to a whopping dosage of 15-20 grams per day.
Currently Oy Elmomed LTD. of Finland owns a patent on both HICA and any claims regarding LBM with HICA use.
My current supplementation stack includes a pre-workout pill similar to the
ingredients found in Yok3d and Jack3d. I have also been taking KreAlkalyn, L-Glutamine, and Vitamin D with L-Tyrosine. I have had no side effects from these other supplements. My diet is very clean and I am all natural in good health.
I took HICA-Max as directed and experienced a wide variety of severe side effects which I will now describe here.
During my short use of HICA-Max I stopped all other supplementation in order
to observe the effect of HICA-Max alone.
On my first use of HICA-Max I experienced a mild sense of brain fog followed by a severe loss of energy (a bad crash). On my second dose of HICA-Max I began experiencing severe room spinning dizziness, this was followed by mild nausea and slight flushing of the skin, much like that of Niacin flush.
I felt exhausted and something in HICA-Max was to blame.
Today I decided to take a short nap at 3:00PM, when I awoke it was 10:30PM a full
seven and a half hours later. I had taken HICA-Max at 2:30pm. This "lost time" was
followed by very severe dizziness which lasted three hours and nearly caused me to fall.
According to my research the probable cause for these horrid symptoms is likely the high dosage of Xylitol and Sucralose found in the HICA-Max tablet.
No recent studies have indicated any side effects of HICA, although research on leucic acid remains rather minimal at this point.
The second primary ingrident of HICA-Max is Xylitol, a manufactured artificial sugar commonly crafted from xyaln hemicellulose which is found in Birch trees.
Xylitol use may cause mild to serious side effects such as stomach pain, diarrhea, or
in some cases kidney problems. In rare cases it is believed that extended use of
Xylitol could lead to tumors or kidney failure.
Some products containing Xylitol carry a label of caution such as these: "In some
users Xlylitol requires a period of tolerance adjustment."
It is the current belief that the safest dosage of Xylitol should not not exceed more
than 500MG, the suggested daily intake of HICA-Max exceeds this amount by 9 times at
4,500MG or 4.5 Grams.
The third ingredient of HICA-Max is sucralose, also an artificial sugar known to
cause symptoms of headaches, skin flushing and dizziness. In recent studies animals
subjected to Sucralose developed poor livers and severe kidney problems while some died.
I will not take this supplement any further.
I doubt leucic acid is to blame for my miserable HICA-Max experience. I hope this
review can serve as a word of caution to others that may be very allergic to the
effect of such a high dose of Xylitol mixed with Sucralose.
CONS:
Severe "Room Spinning" Dizziness
Huge Loss Of Energy
Slight Skin Flushing
Mild Nausea
Increased Urination
Very Mild Back Pump
Very Mild Headache
PROS:
Slight Pump

I have experienced no sides at all. But I have also not experienced any positive changes either. So far HICA MAX = new gimick
Any questions on the Air Force and how it can help meet your needs PM me!

Glad you had no sides! Too bad neither of us got any results either.
The reviews being posted on the store page make HICA-Max sound like a miracle pill. "I took it once now Im ripped!"
Maybe Leucic Acid can have some positive effects. But likley those would come over time, not instantly! Something's very fishy.

Your symptoms exhibit a classic allergic reaction to something in the product, most likely the xylitol. I'd recommend you stop taking it. I'm sorry that you didn't have a good experience.
How long have you been taking it? What dose are you following? How long have you been training? Do you have any other supplement experience? Please let us know what's up before giving up on us. This product works and it works very well.
No, nothing is fishy. We do not have undercover reps or shills. Trust me, I work deep within the heart of the company. Lee is all about honesty. I haven't even seen those specific reviews which you're citing, but everything that's come across my desk has been outstandingly positive.
Also, Xylitol is not artificial, it is a natural sweetener. The upper limits of xylitol aren't accurate as listed above.
Here's more information on Xylitol: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xylitol

A Few More Points...
Bullet points to know about HICA.
1) Taking Leucine is not an effective way of getting HICA. HICA is a specific metabolite from Leucine that has a specific molecular configuration and thus specific properties. In order to get the benefits one needs to take the isolated metabolite. To say that one can get HICA from Leucine is no different than saying you can double your testosterone levels by taking DHEA.
2) Only with Labrada Nutrition you can be assured to get 100% HICA. Labrada Nutrition has tested many other products and found that some products are just Leucine while other products are just at 80% of the label claim.
3) Studies have found that HICA in chewable form is better absorbed than HICA in capsule form.

Wouldn't it be funny if i were able to prove that in a dose dependent manner HICA can actually turn back into Leucine?
In my opinion a significant dose of Leucine will provide an adequate amount of HICA. There are some really good BCAA sups out there with high doses of Leucine. When Leucine is fully metabolised you get HICA. So what's the approximate percentage? How much Leucine equals 500mgs of HICA?
HICA can be converted to KICA which can subsequently be converted back to Leucine, they can act to provide the dietary requirements for BCAA without increasing level of ingested nitrogen (Boebek K P, Baker D H. Comparative utilization of the α-keto and D- and L-α-hydroxy analogs of Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine by chicks and rats. J Nutr. 1982 October; 112(10):1929-39).

Why should you not take this product with protein? Is it at all or just not at the same time?

I take mine sometimes with..sometimes without..see no difference...with that being said...
I kind of got out of lifting for awhile(cut it in half)..got tired of worrying when to eat protein...how much...what kind..blah blah blah...And just spending so much money on protein and supplements lol Anyway got back into lifting a couple of months ago and I read about hica and how if it did work, you could theoretically cut down on your protein..So I started to take another brand of hica..about 4 g's a day...did nothing for me...I kept looking at hica max and said what the hell, I will try it..but take a little more then the first brand I took...cut my protein down from about 225 g's to 125..give or take...well guess what? Have kept all my muscle...lifts went up a little and got a little more cut...Could I have done that without the hica? I doubt it...Anytime in the past I lowered my protein down below 175 g's...my lifts went down big time and I shrunk..but in a bad way lol I also stop taking Creatine when I started the hica...So I think it works....The doms part? Well I have been over training slightly to see what kind of recovery I get from hica....and yeah I am sold...lifts been great..not much in the way of doms...anyway my 2 cents on hica....Peace
P.S. I have cut down on protein before and mega drank BCAA's and esp Lucine...did not work like hica...DJ Joey D!

i was at 194 or so before workouts for the last 2 yrs, sunday hit 198 for the first time ever! still holding it pretty much. I have had 2 long islands the past few saturday evenings, they do have sugar i know and I feel a tab bloated. I ate big meals in the past and the next day or 2 the pound or 2 was gone and never hit 198. I feeling more harder also and push ups went up pretty big over the last month and a half. I ordered 2 more jugs to see how it goes, its been like 5 weeks now. Also liquid avena sativa helped get my test levels up because I have blood work done every 6 months due to HRT.
big is bad!!

Some good literature on this, but I cant see it outperforming leucine, especially at high doses in a bcaa or eaa cocktail. With that said, it does look promising and Labrada makes really high quality stuff time and time again.
