Does your waist size go up when you bulk?

My waist size almost goes up if I eat over maintenance for 3 days let alone a bulk. Yes.

bbavender yes, and I'm very concerned for your attitude towards fat gain. You will gain fat sooner or later, whether in a controlled or uncontrollable situation. With your current mind-set you appear as though you would break down at the thought alone of gaining a few lbs of fat. Fat is easy to lose, muscle is hard to build, I suggest you solidify your resolve by reminding yourself "so ****ing what if I gain a little fat on the journey to building my dream physique?".

if I overeat it will go up in a matter of days. The key is to just go a few hundred cals or so over maint. so you get enough surplus to build muscle but not much fat.

This. I used to be scared of bulking because I wouldn't be able to see my defined abs anymore, but really, what's the point? If you're too scared to bulk, you'll either be at the same weight or less for your entire bodybuilding career. For most people, it's to be more muscular. The only way to do that is to bulk. Bulk will lead to some fat, but you've got to accept it, or else you'll never be more muscular like you want to be.

I just keep mine a little loose when I'm very lean so they fit better bulked... saves money on new pants for more food

Cool thanks. I was just thinking bulk til my pants feel tight mini cut then continue bulk but I think I'll just straight bulk

Waist size is increasing a bit after a gain of about 13-14 lbs in the last 4 months but it's mainly the thighs that feel tighter. Seems that pants these days are cut for flat-assed soccer players with stick-straight legs.

This. Most of my pants would fit waist wise, but I'd have trouble getting them past my thighs and ass. I can't wear any bootcut pants anymore, I always have to buy Loose.

Hahah, this reminds me of a little incident last week. I was in the gas station with a couple friends . This lady About to walk out taps me on the shoulder. I look over and she looks at my ass, then looks forward twice(double takes), then winks three times at me as she's walking out. My friends wouldn't let me live this down because she was in her mid 30's -40's and they kept making funny comments like "ya gonna get that #" and "chris is getting hit on by old ladies"etc. Kindof embarrassing.

The only thing it effects for me really is board shorts. With pants I just use a belt. But I have about 3 different sizes of board shorts for fluctuations.

waist not so much, but my quads/ass definitely. Its so hard to find a pair of shorts or jeans to wear when I go out that fit decently. Everything's loose around the waist, tight around the quads and ass.

As a soccer player I resent this. My legs are neither stickly or straight(and they weren't went I played competitively either).

My waist size fluctuates all the time. Just keep a couple different size pants around, and the fluctuations aren't great enough that it can't be solved with a belt.

Gained 35lbs during my last bulk....so of course the "skinny" clothes get tight.

Slower and longer bulk this time around...will be going for even more weight, but since i'll be gaining slower, more of it will be lean mass rather than fat.
