Hi I am slowly working my way through the first few pages of this. At the momenth I have been playing for 2 month, not regularly at all. At the moment I'm learning this::
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/...angles_tab.htm
(he starts the song with 2:29 remaining)
tab seems to be a large oversimplification from the sound and also where his hand is pon the guitar, also the timing of the song is incredibly complicated.
Probably not the best for a total beginner but I like the song a lot so a bit of determination will yeild a lot of enjoyment.
What do you think of the tab?

Is it impossible to play like hendrix? If I study and learn some songs. I don't want to be hendrix just play similar to his style.

could anyone recommend a good guitar forum? I saw a couple links on the first page but I didn't want to just sign up to a random one. I need help getting started, I am learning chords and scales right now and don't know where to go after this.

www.ultimate-guitar.com has a good forum. Tons of really good info there and a decent user community.

new to guitar, bought a cheap Ibanez electric.
Already had to take it in, low E and A strings were like buzzing/twangy when playing them, they supposedly "set it up" for me. Now two days later, the G string is making the same noise when open. Is there any way to fix myself or I have to take it in again?
thanks

Spend 10-15 minutes a day working on finger dexerity and independance with strict alternate picking. It will help you more than you know later with your playing.

This is a great exercise for dexerity.
All the ones they do are good but at 1.35(or 3.30 if it countsdown) is the one I am referring to.

yeah, it's in tune.
would getting it re-strung solve the problem?
I bought this a couple weeks ago:
http://www.absolutelyunderstandguitar.com/
on lesson three, but it seems like it's gonna get complicated.
I have been working on AED chords on my own. going slow and annoying when string buzzes, sounds like crap.

The Box Position
I found this very useful in my playing; especially when looking to be more melodic and color your riffs a bit differently.
Taken from www.myguitarsolo.com, I adopted their practice schedule and its helped me learn some new techniques.Semper Fi

I think everyone (non virtuoso types) struggles with something. Wide stretches, odd arpeggio shapes etc... For me it was alternate & economy picking and only just now (after many years of playing) am I starting to see notable differences in my picking ability.
I would say practice finger independence for 5-10 minutes a day, everyday but remember to have fun and continue to grow as a musician.
Rock Discipline by Petrucci has some great exercises in it. The whole thing is on youtube but the book is really handy.

I have 3 floyd rose tremolos. I hate change the strings becuase it takes so damn long. Normally I wait until one breaks or I just have some extra time.
My Dean got out of wack about 1 month ago, it took my 2 weeks to get it back in order. That was a pain in the dick.
I am in the process of learning to do setups. 50 bucks a pop gets expensive.
Do you have any tips?Brothers of Metal Crew

Ouch. Yeah i can't be bothered to pay the money to have mine set up, so do mine myself. And if i do it wrong, my guitar teacher will always tell me, so its easy really.
