    Swim after chest/shoulder day

Is it a good or bad idea to go swimming after those workouts? I fell a little sore though. Thought it would help loosen up or would it overwork those muscles?

as long as you're getting good sleep and your diet is good then i dont see how it could hurt. the cardio is good for you and the swimming would help with the soreness by getting blood flowing to the muscle.

i see it as asking would you skip a pick up football game with friends because you did legs the day before?

IMO it is better to swim before chest day than after. This should help your loosen muscles before lifting day.

I swim the day after leg day ....

If you are doing laps and not sprints you are fine. I swam for Auburn University and we would work out then hit the pool after it. Would rather get in cold water than get in a hottub or something like that. Might seem like you are overworking yourself at first but your body will adapt to it very fast.

Swimming's good for you. As long as you aren't going for an Olympic gold medal in swimming you should be fine. If your chest/shoulders are pretty sore just try not to overdo it, and swim casually. It should be a good recoop.
