First beer of the day on my 38th bday bitch's!. This beer is phawking whooooge! Big bready malty assault on the palate. Caramel and vanilla assault the taste buds along with sweet honey and molasses sweetness. Hops are not even noticeable. Alcohol doesn't make itself known on the taste buds but, oh yeah, at 14% you feel it! Good brew! And at $15/bottle. I would definetely buy again and will!

Just got back from the Boston Beer Summit.. good times as always! Many beers as usual, some really good new brews were "sampled".. Clearly, I'm biased towards Sam Adams, and I'm not surprised on a new set of brews they have. Their new Latitude 48 IPA has 5 different hops in it. So this Summer they are releasing a special box with the Latitude 48: Deconstructed. Basically they are releasing the same base malt bill IPA, but with each hop singled out. So I tried the Zeus and Simcoe versions today. Zeus was good, Simcoe was outstanding. The idea is to show people the difference hops make, and how different varieties taste. I think it's pretty cool..and I like the first 2 released.
Also has some new local brews, Wormtown, Blue Hills, and Gearys were damn good.
I've had booze flowing through me since last night's Bob Seger concert. I never felt so young..so many oldies walking around. The show sucked, no volume in the balcony. Plus I don't fit in those seats too well.. I did enjoy a 32oz beer and pizza before the show. I just said large, then I realized they were giving me a cup with 2 pints of beer. Truly awesome, and only $9... On break for a few hours, then headed to a friends place to enjoy whatever he just picked up a on beer trip...
Sunday won't exist.. I'll pass out tonight, and wake up for work Monday. Good times indeed...\
Cheers!...i remain, he who remains to be...

I think it's a great idea. I know people who think there are only a few different hop varities. This should change and educate some people at least. I went back for 3rd sample of the Simcoe and they were out. The guy said my 2nd taste was one of the last, it went very quickly. They also had a Chocolate Cherry Stout; I passed.
Many other good beers there..Wormtown, Gearys, Blue Hills, Harpoon, Long Trail, Otter Creek, Left Hand...and others. I can't remember all of them..
No, the original Lat 48 will still be available on it's own. The special 6 pack will include one bottle of the original, plus one bottle each per hop variety...so in one night, you could go through the full spectrum of the beer and taste each hop. Also can pour into a glass and make your own mix.. I am defintely looking forward to getting quite a few of these to mess around with....i remain, he who remains to be...

Past 2 days
Not much experience with doppelbocks, but this one is delicous. molasses, caramel, toffee, coffee, roasted malt, and honey flavor. Super smooth drinking and everything
downright amazing, love this. dark fruits, cherry, spices with some chocolate and molasses
tasty imperial stout. a little bit of off flavors, a little one dimensional. mostly chocolate, caramel, and roasted malt
I got a gusher, who knows how old this was. was very good stuff though, the aromas were a bit weird though, but the taste was pretty much spot on. Will have to try a fresh bottle later on. flavors of citrus, caramel, apple, floral, and spices
fantastic, hopslam still beats it though, but this is a winner. taste of grapefruit, lemon, pine, and floral notes; with a bit of spice as well.

Looks like some good beers were consumed by you guys over the weekend. nice.
My weekend:
Friday went to Alpine Beer Co., had Bad Boy and Hoppy Birthday there. Left with 2 growlers of Hoppy Birthday.
Pretty much sums up what happened the rest of the days.
Cheers!

Well, my penance for the horrible blunder that was Blue Boar came in the form of a variety of Deschutes beers: Green Lakes organic amber, Inversion IPA, Red Chair NWPA, Obsidian Stout. Of those, Red Chair and Obsidian won the evening. Green Lakes was very well balanced and usually I can't get into amber ales at all, but this one had some character to it. Inversion started off with a great pine hop scent but the flavor was lacking.

Started yesterday off with this. Its a weizen-doppelbock brewed with tea. Tasted like bad ass! The flavor profile was that of soured tea! **** sucked!
Finished off with this. Its the Stone, Pizza Port and Green Flash collaboration of Highway 76 Scotch Ale. Taste and smell were nearly identical. Smelled of huge bready, yeasty dark maltiness. Taste was the same but you can throw caramel and pumpernickel into the profile. Alcohol flavor is slightly present at first but as the brew warms up it dissipates. Good brew and would drink again.

The brewery is small, standing room only. Their pub next door has great bbq and lots of their beer on tap, lately they have been carrying 2 guest taps as well. Sometimes they will shock you with what's on tap, a few months ago I was drinking 09 Great there. Everyone is friendly and loves beer, defenitly worth the trip.

Keezo, I didn't particularly like that Stone Scotch Ale. Tasted kinda infected.
