Hah, I quit the old gym I had to quit going to that gym, cause I just didn't have time. Unfortunately the damn college gym is full of tools right around busy hour.

These two 140lbs ****s were doing side raises next to me, and I politely suggested to do it a different way that would work the muscle more, and they just continued to do it their way. I just looked at them and said "Yea, cause i don't know how to squat 565lbs for nothing, nor have I trained with pros or anything like that..." Yes, that was totally douchey, but they were pissing me off.

Then later I was sharing a machine with this kid, and we were both doing rear delt flys, and I showed him a different way to try it, and it worked better for him. I talked to him for a few about different exercises after that.

I don't go around critiquing everyone's form n crap, but if there is someone using the same machine as me, or doing something blatantly wrong, I might politely suggest a different way to do it. I try to not come off as a dick, as I know what those dudes are like, but I get discouraged when I try to be very nice about it, and people just blow it off and look at me like I'm crazy. Its like..dude, I'm 60lbs heavier than you, do you think this happened on accident?! I mean if Beau or Spectre were to tell me how to bench, I' d listen (If I hadn't already been to a PL gym).

No respect these days.

I've seen her say some rather harsh things to a few people, then delete them later. Her progress/transformation is commendable, but I just find issues with a "happily married" woman posting pictures like she does on a board full of men. Essentially, it's the same as celebrities doing it, but they get paid for it. She does it for the attention.

I know exactly what you mean. But its to the point that i keep my mouth shut unless they ask for help. Theres this one 18 year old kid that benches. You can tell hes doing more weight then he should by hit shiitty form and bouncing it off his chest. NOT using clamps to hold the weights on. Told him to drop weight and slow it down and told him 3 different times to put the clamps on when the weights were sliding. "yeah i know i should probably do that" was his response EVERY time.

well, one day, i was over doing curls when he was benching.. and BANG he unloaded either 185 or 205. hit the safety catch on the way up and knocked him off balance. looked at eachother and i shook my head and went back to working out.

Its ALWAYS the people in that 17-20 range too.

Its to the point i stopped carring. I go to the gym, get in my own lil world. and no on else exists unless i ask for a spot or they ask me.

Awesome video -- it's this kind of thinking and these ideas that hooked me immediately when I took compsci this year. The sheer possibilities for it all went off in my head like the Big Bang, and I thought: "I've got to get into this."

I'm particularly interested in things like this -- natural, smooth computation of language is the first step towards a real AI, and the idea of a universally accessible reference to the universe makes me bonerific. If I could one day work in one of this man's projects, I would f u c k i n g S H I T.

Interesting discussion at the end -- the reference to "Benoit"'s ideas in tree-like data forms makes me think he's the one behind this map of the internet I saw on reddit yesterday.

EDIT: Check out the wiki for the "Mathematica" program. My nerdy may be showing, but the list of features is practically making me squeal. Helluva bit of software.
