    Question Question About Protein Post-Workout

If I'm not looking to gain muscle and I'm just doing my normal muscle building exercises without going to failure, so basically just for cardio, do I HAVE to take protein afterwords?

If by afterwords you mean within an hour or so of training, you NEVER have to take protein. What you eat throughout the day is fine.

So you don't want to gain muscle, you only want to cardio? Good god, why would you even ask if you need protein afterwords? No, you can do whatever you want. I'm not quite sure what your goals are.

Well, cardio meaning 12-15 reps pretty fast to get the heart rate up and not going to failure just to maintain my muscle mass...Anyway, I just wanted to make sure because I don't want to be taking in shakes while I'm cutting. Thanks.

    1. I'm not looking to gain muscle
    2. I do muscle building exercises

    ?

You don't HAVE to take protein for anything, bro. Protein powder is just a convenience thing and as long as you are eating enough calories and appropriate macronutrients, hopefully at least 50% coming from nutrient dense foods, you are good.
