Since I am bulking I wanted to use creatine for the weight gain. After loading 20g a day for a week my weight has not had any dramatic increase. I drink more than my body weight in oz's so i get enough water.
The creatine I am using is the generic GNC monohydrate. Could that be it? I feel like I can lift more but it could be a placebo effect.

Considering the whole "loading phase" myth has been debunked many times before. So let me start off by saying you could have just took the maintenance dosage of 3-5g pre, or post workout, not 20g like people suggest for "loading"
You will get the same benefits and have your creatine last you longer by using the 3-5g dosage rather than the 20g loading phase dosage for 1-2 weeks(depending on how long u do it for).
If its kre-alkalyn creatine you will not retain any water, thus not gain weight. The only weight you would gain would be lean muscle mass, and some awesome strength gains.
Not sure why you are not gaining weight from a loading phase, but it would most likely be between not drinking enough water(usually people get headaches if they dont drink enough water), or plainly not eating enough.

im using Pro labs creatine mono, and i have experienced some strength gains in the gym, but my weight gain hasnt changed pace on my bulk, which is good IMO, since its not water weight. I think people just respond differently, if your having strength gains i dont see the problem.

wtf I just got on my loading phase of creatine 3rd day in biceps up from 14.5 to 15 and weight gone up from 82kg to 83kg which is a 2.2lb gain. Also the creatine is about 3 months out of date so it's meant to be less effective and I only get like 3 liters of water a day, not the standard recommended 6 liters.

Provide me any sort of evidence that there's a different pathway by which kre-alkalyn is processed and we'll talk. The 'studies' you're referring to are almost certainly commissioned and paid for by companies with a vested interest.
Until then, you should look up the studies that show that creatine doesn't affect fluid distribution. They've been done. That means no "water bloat". It's actually impossible to distort fluid distribution outside certain parameters for an extended period of time...kinda flies in the face of that 'homeostasis' thing the human body has the audacity to want to maintain.
Professionals use kre-alkalyn because they're sponsored by companies that want them to. Layne Norton has already answered anecdotal evidence with his own, stating that he's used less 'exotic' forms and had no problems getting on stage.
Point: Kre-Alkalyn is just a novel repackaging with the exact same effects as the parent product from which it's derived.forum rule
