Dunno but my Dad climbed some big ass mountain in BC (obviously not anything close to everest) and when he got to the top, he busted out a beer he had brought with him and drank it.

Seems like a pretty appropriate thing to do.

the nose is 31 pitches and averages like 4 days to climb.

Unless you solo/speed climb it, like Alex Honnold. He soloed Half Dome in a little over two hours and the Nose in just under 6 hours and did both in one day at just over 11 hours. Dude is nuts, but a sick climber.

Wrong-o. You still have to train like a freak if you want up. The guys who climb these are pretty fit.

Don't know if it has already been posted but Paths of Glory by Jeffrey Archer is a great book on George Mallory's attempts at Everest in the early 1900's (the guy picture dead in 1924). Better Everest book than Into Thin Air by a large margin IMO.
