Get a job you actually enjoy is the real key, it can be fun to work hard on something if it means something to you.
Ya, that is hard and not what I did... I graduated from the best business school in Canada, only took $60,000 out of my pocket, which between summer jobs, poker, current job, is only $3k debt now 4 months out. A lot of my classmates are making $100k+ first year out working 100 hour weeks in i-banking. I had the grades to do that but elected not to for > quality of life. I make $45k a year (very low for coming out of my program with high grades) but it is easily enough to pay the bills for now, I work 8-4, monday to friday 10 minutes from home. I have tons of free time for gym, athletics, girlfriend... life is good. I'm glad I took this path for now, and I doubt I'll ever jump through the right hoops to be a millionaire, but I think I'll be happier than one.
And hey, you can always change your mind, go back for an MBA and then go into finance/consulting...

False.
When you're 50-60 your kids will be in college or out of college. A lot of people's retirement plans are ruined by having to pay ridiculous tuition so their douchebag son and slut daughter can go to a big state college to party until they get kicked out and have to move back home and go to a local college.
When you're 50-60 you have to worry about health issues. Medical costs are the most common reason why people end up bankrupt. Nothing can prevent family genetics from taking an effect.
Currently watching how people in my family who worked for so many years are struggling so much.A paradox.

when you got a sh!t load of money chicks will flock at u. that basically cover any girl problems you will have.
for people that say they cant enjoy life, well, ever consider doing their job is what they enjoy. also, not to mention most of those people take long vacation when they do and go to places you can only dream about.

graduated with like $11k in debt only cleared $8k in 4 months, got $1000 bucks from Grandparents for graduating, thats all the parental support. It's called working summers through uni, through highschool, lucky investments, and +15kish on poker. Thanks though.
edit: and ya 100k+ usually 60+60 is what people were signing for, same for most big firms in US I'd imagine

money isn't shiit, because most people just live in the rat race.
go to school, get good grades, go to college, get a good job to pay for college, get paid, get a nice house, work more to pay for house, get family, work more to pay for family, work more to pay for kids to go to college, work more to save for retirement, retirement comes, you're still living paycheck to paycheck because you're still living beyond your means and trying to stick with the Joneses, can't retire, gotta pay your Lexus payment, you die, your body decomposes, an animal feeds on your remains while your kids and grandchildren continue your legacy of living the rat race and never actually being happy.Getting swole, one day at a time.

yes but it is the rich people paying most of the tax. The top tax bracket is 46.41% which comes into play when you make >80ish k... but I make 45k, I pay around 7k tax a year, which sucks, but it's worth it to me, and probably not that much higher than the US at these low levels. The key benefits are for people making like $25k, you barely pay tax at all but still get all the benefits of the rich people paying tax. It just sucks for someone making 200k and losing half of it.

Sounds like OP is lazy.
You don't have to become a doctor to make six figures. There are plenty of jobs where you can have a resonable lifestyle and plenty of time to spend the money you earn where 50 to 60 hours a week is the norm.If It CaN't KiLL Ya|

I cut down my hours in my day job for the simple reason:
I do not live to work.
If you desire to spend everyday of your life in work, to gain some more money, so the few hours that you do get free you have a slightly larger TV, you are honestly doingitwrong.jpg.
The only reason to work extended hours is to save more money so you can retire earlier. It is that simple. The are a lot of idiots on this website who do not understand the reality of life, you get one chance and when you are on your death bed you will regret wasting so much time working and not enjoying yourself.∫ іяс сязш ∫

Some people enjoy working and its fun for them, seriously.
Maybe your hobby is Nintendo or something, LOL, other people like to work 80hrs a week, if you dont have much else going on its okay to try to excel in one area.
Like if youre a dr or lawyer thats pretty much all you do and these people dont complain because its what they want to do.
Same with people on welfare, they like sitting on their ass all day and doing nothing but watch TV...this is one extreme opposite, and there are people in the middle too.

Or how about making wise investments with your 50k job so you can work 32 hr weeks AND drive a ferrari. Thats what I'm talkin bout.
I definitely do not plan on working a ton to make a ton, thats why I'm going to be a teacher.
Oh, whats that, you can't wait for retirement, eh? I'll retire every summer.
brb driving around in an RV for 3 months, u mad?Getting swole, one day at a time.

All my buds are going to community college. They are going to make atleast 50K a year, maybe even less but they are going to be happy. To be honest, I asked myself this too when I was deciding what to do with my life. I came to terms that you can either be happy and live your life while making a good enough earning for yourself and only yourself or be somewhat happy in your life and make a decent living to support yourself plus others. It depends on your outlook of life. I enjoy learning about the body and studying medicine. So I might as well go be a PA.
