Question about calories in alcohol!

I'm trying to find out many much alcohol is in gin, vodka and whiskey. I get different answers between 69 calories to 96 calories for a shot. It changes and I want to put the alcohol in to my marco tonight and don't want to over do my calorie intake. Don't want to go over 1800 calories a day.

As long as you are drinking 80 proof alcohol without adding anything other than water or 0 calorie beverages then you don't really even need to count it. Alcohol cannot be stored as fat, it's what you eat before and while you are drinking that matters.

7 calories per gram. To really figure out the calories per shot you have to know the proof of the bottle.

I looked at a bunch of sites for Vodka (like 8), most said 55cal, 1 said 56cal, & 1 said 64cal per 1oz shot. The others can vary depending on the manufacturer and how much sugar they may add.

Personally when i go out, I only ever drink vodka and diet coke...and I always just count 100 for each vodka.

People are probably disagreeing because they have different ideas of what a "shot" is. A shot of liquor at a bar should be 1.5 oz, which would be around 100 cals. I think a lot of people think of a shot as 1 oz since that's how much those little souvenir shot glasses everyone has will hold.

Don't worry about the cals in the booze, worry about the cals in the soda you mix it with

Like others have said it's not really the alchohol it's what you mix it with.

I normally with mix with diet or sugar free (if doing an energy drink mixer).
