i was gunna start a new thread, but then this one got bumped.
i was doing some calorie counting and meal planning and i came by something that alarms me. i am aware that food labels round and arent always completely accurate. but check this out:
i'm looking at the package for the large ones as i type this:
"calories 80 calories from fat 30
total fat 3g
...
total carbohydrate 19g
dietary fiber 14g
sugars 1g
protein 8g
...
calories per ram:
Fat 9 - Carbohydrate 4 - Protein 4"
ok so i was doing some math and something is waaaaayyyy wrong. me and my calculator have decided that it has more like 135 calories:
fat 3 x 9 = 27 <-- they rounded up? good for them!
carbs 19 x 4 = 76
protein 8 x 4 = 32
27 + 76 + 32 = 135
my email has been acting up, did i miss the memo that 135 rounds to 80? cause i could have sworn 135 rounds to 140, but i would even be a alright if they said 130, but 80? c'mon now!
anyone have any ideas? am i missing something? am i completely retarded? this isnt going to completely ruin my diet. im not going to accidently get disgustingly fat because of an extra 55 kcals but im a little confused/ frustrated with those numbers.
