I've only done deadlifts like 5 or 6 times (don't ask me why I never used to train properly), set a PR of 265lbs today, set of 8. For me this is good but I appreciate it's pretty weak, what would be a good kind of weight to be looking at for 180lber?
I didn't mean is this a good deadlift for 180lbs, I know it's not, I meant whats IS a good deadlift.

265x8 and you've just started deads? Ehhh. im missing something
I've been doing deads for at least a solid year but i've plateued the past few months. yesterday i went light and did 200x10, then a couple sets of 225x7
My max is 265 x 5... I like to go slightly lighter now since my lower back has had really bad pain problems in the past. I think 8 reps is perfect for deads.
I remember when I was 160-165 I first did deadlifts, I could only lift 145lb a couple times. pretty sad lolMisc jawbrah appreciation crew

My max is 180kg (396 lbs) and i've just starting a new deadlift programe so hopefully will get it to 200kg +. I normally deadlift about 2-3 times a year and each time my deadlift shoots way up by about 30kg. So OP don't worry that was pretty good for just starting and you will see the weight flying up in no time. Just make sure to get the technique PERFECT!!

Now I ve been working out for 3 months so total NOOB here today I just DL for the first time in my life I dit it for like 30 min repping out light /medium/relative heavy you know trying to be cautious, before I tried to see how much can I DL for 1 RP so I hit 145KG or 315 Punds at BW 79 KG or 175 Pounds . So went one and did some research found this site and apparently I am somewhere a bit above Intermediate at a 1st attempt this is what I am talking about > www/dot/strstd/dot/com just put in your BW/sex and stats and you get some graphic on where you stand , what do you guys think is this site with stats legit can I be using this as guideline ?
