Hey man, the fat in the lower abdominal area & obliques is always the last to go. If you intend to add 5-10 lbs of lean muscle within the next year, then cutting seems kinda pointless at this stage...
...unless you're so whipped by vanity that you just need to show off 'pretty abs' for the girlchachos. (-_- p)

definately not for the girls (happily engaged) and i do intend to add 5-10 lbs of lean muscle, so why is that pointless though? i though it would be easier to lose the fat then build muscle instead of vise versa?
btw i have a collie too if thats what your name means, great dogs
haha nice, btw if you have a macy's near by, the emporio armani ones are on sale540iboy on bimmerforums.com

I can see what you want to do. I also understand the guys that say do a clean bulk, add some muscle and then cut a couple of lbs of fat. I don't know for sure, but I think I would add some more mass and then cut.
But it's up to you of course and getting leaner first can be cool too
good luck anyways.

Gotta be honest, I think you are better of bulking. You are lean enough but light enough that if you keep your nutrition in check a couple of pounds of mass will likely give you more of the look you want. If you look through many of the transformations posted in this section, many guys with your leanness and size end up looking better after +5/8lbs than most do -5/8lbs.
I can appreciate your desire to shed that last bit though. Good news is that it shouldnt take more than a few small pounds, and thus a few short weeks.
Best of luck either way!Team Never Full

thanks for all the great input guys!
i dont see why i get so much mixed ideas though, half the people i've talked to said cut, then the other half say bulk. its wierd, at my house i have a huge tub of weight gainer sitting right next to my diet plan lol540iboy on bimmerforums.com
