my motor:
my truck:
bought it with the camper top, plan on ditching it and getting a fiberglass tonneu. i love cars, but i've always had a dakota. wrecked my last one so i bought this one to replace it. i tow occassionally too so a car wont cut it.
the motor is estimated to make about 525-550 hp at the crank. i had to take it back out though cause i washed out my rings with too big of injectors on a stock tune. i have a small supercharger for it too, pushes 8 lbs, plan on getting a novi2000 and running 16-18psi. the motor is built for boost, i got about $6500 into it.Ability is what you're capable of doing. I was looking for either a camaro or a trans am. I just love the raw sound of the 350 lt1 versus the ls1. Insurance tho was ridiculous I dont even remember what the quotes ended up being but it was crazy. Hopefully slightly better now(clean driving record and everything)

mopar 360 bored/stroked to 408, eddy heads fully ported with a 5-angle vj and opened up chambers, 236/242 cam .575 lift, fully forged bottom end, internal balance, diamond dished pistons, clevite bearings, m-1 4bbl intake manifold (2bbl adapter plate), twin 58mm TB, high volume oil pump, pro-street dampener, JBA shorty headers(need to replace with midlengths) etc.
i built it over the course of 3 years a little at a time. i'm about to have a shop rebuild it so i'll have somewhat of a warranty.Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it. - Lou Holtz

How do you guys get the cash to do this with your cars? How do you pack that much HP in your cars anyways? And it seems like SOOOO much time. But I honestly wanna do this with mine. It's one of my huge hobbies.
Here's my car:
I love it but it only has 130 HP lol. so far Ive done cheaper exterior/interior mods, bilstien sport shocks, h&r springs, racing brakes.
what do you think i should tackle next? i will try to at some point get a 325 engine in there or - if im swimming in cash - an M3 engine. 250 hp in a 2500lb car would be nasty.
suggestions/tips?

Yank, any car can be made fast. My advice is pick a decent platform. Beemers are cool but SUPER costly to modify. I've been at this car since 1999 and changed many things. Learned alot thru my own dumb mistakes. Had bad machine work done too. So over a decade the car has transformed and I put a few K in it each year. This year was a costly one as I freshened up the whole motor and got screwed on some of it. I do ,ove driving it though, gets plenty of looks and beat down many cars costing way more.
