About 5 weeks before school ended for me I decide to eat 1500 calories a day and record everything I ate. It was easier for me to do it because school helped me keep track of everything and I lost 20 lb.. Since school got out I find it harder to stay on track.
What can I do to get back on track?

You can find other ativities to keep you occupied instead of just riding your bike. Take a walk, go swimming or just go to the gym. As long as you are being active, it will help you keep losing weight.
On the counting calories thing, keep counting your calories wenever you can. If you go out to eat make sure its something healthy like a salad or a grilled chicken sandwich. Eating out isnt so bad as long as you eat healthy and not in excess.

Off topic, but completely true.
OP, where is your family eating out that doesn't have a chicken breast on the menu? Or a steak with a side salad? Or salmon and rice? Eating out is not always a barrier to eating healthy, you can choose the best food available to you and make up the difference elsewhere in your calories."You show me someone who got fat eating fruit and I'll show you someone with a deep fryer and too much time on their hands."

Alright. McDonald's is a challenge, but if your fam's just getting fast food, why not eat at home? If you're actually sitting down at the franchise, then you have issue, but it's still okay. Get their grilled chicken sandwich with no cheese or mayo for 420 cals and if you're inclined for a side, a fruit n' yogurt for 160. Drink diet soda, iced tea with splenda, or water. Like I said, not the best situation, but far from calorie-killing.
Red Robin has a calorie-counter on their website that you can use to customize an order, play around with it. Area diners are going to be difficult to count exact cals, but you can estimate. Just stay away from cheese and heavy creamy sauces and you'll be fine.
Check for tips in the Nutrition forum stickies. They'll help you a lot."You show me someone who got fat eating fruit and I'll show you someone with a deep fryer and too much time on their hands."

McDonald sells salad lol I used to buy it all of the time, grilled chicken salad
Also McDoanld's has a calorie counter on their website.
http://nutrition.mcdonalds.com/nutri...itionfacts.pdf
And its also printed on the back of the paper things they put on the trays (In Britain it is, not sure about America)
Most small restaurants will offer salad of some sort, if its not on the menu ask if they could make you one? im sure they would if you asked.Last edited by rawrnom; 06-16-2010 at 02:37 PM.
