If your going to reward yourself go to a running store and get fitted with a good pair. I was like shoes are shoes till I did that. My knees and lower back are like thank you.

Right now I just wear Chuck Taylors. I am going to buy a good pair of weightlifting shoes soon. I have a pair of Nike's like Jamaicanmixy's that are for casual wear and/or cardio, but they aren't so good for lifting.

    I lift barefoot.

For running, I'll agree with the people who suggested you go to a running store (a real one, not Dick's or Foot Locker) and get fitted by someone who knows what they're doing.

Like every other powerlifter in the world, I wear a pair of the classic Chuck Taylor's from Converse. There is accademic research which shows that its better to squat and deadlift with a flat, hard sole shoe than with running shoes....thus, I highly reccomend no running shoes when you squat or deadlift.
