Great stuff, well done!
That's a pretty narrow bench grip you've got, I bench like that too.
(not so much weight though)

Umm I don't know if you knew this but you can't be a powerlifter and a bodybuilder at the same time, all powerlifters are fat and all bodybuilders are weak so even though you have awesome vids for proof and smoked all those lifts, I'm going to have to ignore these facts so i can continue to fight on the internet.

It was kind of odd. There were some VERY cool guys there and some VERY not so cool guys. I think part of the not so cool attitude is that for some of the guys, Powerlifting is what they DO, its everything to them, its all they live for....its a hobby for me, i really enjoy it but Im not going to go ape if i miss a lift or dont set PR's on every attempt
Dan Dague, the promoter of the meet paid Topnotch and I some very nice compliments while we were there, Ive got nothing but respect for him, he put on a great meet
I would like to do the Raw Unity Meet at some point, i think that would be a good time!
Hey go for it, I hope you get it! I love good friendly competition....it helps us all get better!
well thank you!
I find that grip easy on my shoulders and still quite strong for me
There were a lot of guys there from gyms all over...it would be hard to say if they were Lexen guys or not, i just dont know
Thanks!
I would say that is likely the case. I did outbench several guys using shirts that were in weight classes close to mine. I can kida understand geared lifting, but when 315 almost crushes you raw (which I saw in warmups) and you end up benching over 500 it just seems weird. but thats ok with me if thats what they want to do.
thanks man! I certainly left some lbs on the platform, but it was my first meet so a lot of it was a learning experience
will do, short term goal is to get that total to 1800!
thanks Bryce, keep pluggin and youll get it no doubt
thanks! I think I had another 20-25 in me on the pull
much appreciated Joey!
thanks offroad!
this ^^^^^ is funny as hell and made me laugh out loud thus garnering funny looks at the office lol. Keep up the good fight and sorry for a temporary disruption to the rule
shhhh

thanks Mike...I was surprised that I hit some of those so easily, the bench and deadlift were both all time PR's for me
lol, even if it was my mom, i dont care.....she can do what she wants lol, but much appreciated!
Im takin this week easy in the gym, just going in and doing some really LIGHT movements to keep me from getting stiff and help recoup....cant wait to get back at it hard next week

Dave, thanks for stopping in! Ive seen some of your lifts and its quite impressive to watch!
Yes, this was my first meet. On the bench and deadlift, I really had no idea each of those last attempts would go so smoothly, I had never hit either of those numbers in the gym before....
On squats, I missed my first attempt at 500, didnt take it deep enough largely due to the fact that it was 20 minutes between my last warmup and my first attempt and I got cold (is what it is, part of my learning curve so I went with 500 on my second attempt to make sure I got in the meet. I knew I could squat 550 without much trouble, but I didnt think a 75-100lb jump would be wise

thanks man. you are going to be impressing alot of people in the future too bro, i can see you posting some huge numbers. You did very well for your first meet.
Its good that you had problems with warmups and what not so you can learn from that. I always find out where I am in a flight and time my last couple warmup sets to that. If im last in a flight of say 10 lifters in squat or bench ill hit my second to last warmup about 7-8 mintues out from the start of lifting, last warmup about 1-2 minutes out. Then it takes around 5 or so minutes to get through the 9 lifters before me. Deadlift is different, it goes much faster so adjust to that. Dont get anxious and jump the gun on warmups, i see alot of lifters make that mistake.
It seems to me you had no idea what to expect out of yourself going into this meet, and that can be either disaster, or you can wind up leaving ALOT on the platform which is what you did. You need to set prs around 3-5 weeks out from a meet so you can get your attempts down. Open on all three lifts with a weight you can do for a triple. Something heavy enough to feel it and give you confidence, but a weight you know you will nail easily. Base your second attempt off of the prs you set in training (and how your opener felt). If you squatted 500 in training for a pr, and your 470 opener felt really fast, go 505. Then go for broke on your third. Hope this helps on your next meet, let me know if you need any advice on anything
