+1 I've been trying to limit myself to 1Tbs, taken with each whey shake throughout the day. Sometimes that becomes 2Tbs, and then I have to make up for it later by changing the meal plan around a bit.

It makes no difference what kind of peanut butter you eat if it fits in with your macros. Regular PB FTW!

For me I have to do what is best for me. Yeah eating clean would be optimal in most cases, but knowing me, I would have failed eons ago if I ate nothing but clean foods. I am used to the crap I guess and IMO weening myself slowly off these so called crap foods is the best way for me.

I would have never lost 80 pounds if I ate nothing but clean foods, because I would have failed months and months ago.

With that said, I eat much, much better than what I used too. Some people have strong will power compared to others....hence me...I have terrible will power and love food...mostly bad food.

I am doing better, obviously and eat better and better at the end of each month, but I still eat my ice cream, PB, and many other things that wouldn't be considered clean.

Least I don't eat fast food anymore, lol! I do cook everything now.

i eat 1 table spoon of natural peanut butter about 90 minutes before my workouts. It is 4g protein, 3g carbs, 8g fat.

The ingredients on the jar read: Peanuts, salt.

    That's it.

On a bulk I also have 1 cup milk as part of my pre work out mini-meal. On a cut i just have water.

peanutbutter, and actually any other nut, is a balanced source of protein and carbs. Kind of like Greek yogurt.

I say load up on any food that has equal ratios of carbs to protein, and keep your calories in check, and you'll be set.

Avoid foods that are heavy carbs (aka white bread or sugary-yogurts) and low on protein.

    lol.

srs tho, skippy uses hydrogenated oil in their peanutbutter. They call them 'stabilizers', but because of the trans-fats health-problems, there are whole hosts of 'natural' and 'pure' peanut butters out there now that do not have trans-fats.

Skippy tries to downplay the use of trans fats:

However, they're in there, and they're not good for you.

The biggest problem I have with PB is the amount. I simply cannot stop much less than 2 servings. I actually didn't realize how many calories I was eating until I weighed it. I would weigh the jar before and after, and eat like I normally do. The results were 8 tablespoons. It came out to 800 calories, and it was what I thought was pretty normal.

PB tastes great, but the stuff is just so damn calorie dense. I actually have to try not to eat it. I can eat a quart of yogurt in less calories than 2 servings of PB. I still eat it almost every day, but it takes willpower of steel to push the jar away after I start. I love the stuff!

I love crunchy natty PB. But I won't start a cut with a significant amount left in the fridge, cause I'd hit it like a truck as soon as the first hunger pangs set in.

I can portion control just about anything else, but not PB. It's too good.
