I've done both and both are good. Try ZMA and if it works great if still not enough try simply sleep.

ZMA won't help you get to sleep, but it gives you a deep sleep plus crazy dreams

Just to let you know, most OTC sleep aids contain benadryll (diphenhydramine). It's good for short term or occasional usage, but it's not really meant to be a sleep aid for a more significant or long term problem, it just has the desired side effect of making you really drowsy. If it's a big problem I'd get it checked out by a doctor, there's much more effective and desirable sleep aids out there.

Agreed. You should give Melatonin a shot...I would recommend stacking it with ZMA.
Smoking Marijuana releases a high amount of melatonin in the body...but its also illegal and a hell of a lot more expensive than melatonin pills!

zma isn't going to make u sleepy brah. otc i guess are the way to go. honestly from my experience the RX ones like ****** and lunesta work a lot better, and are actually healthier to take on a regular basis. OTC stuff like benedryl, melatonin, 5-htp, etc. are not good to take every night for various reasons, though I usually take something cause I'm an insomniac. Main problem with OTC stuff is that yes, you'll get to sleep, but usually you'll feel like **** in the morning till about noon when it finally has all worn off. Having taken the Rx stuff, you can pretty much feel 100% within 15-20 minutes of waking up. Unfortunately docs these days are *******s and won't prescribe ****.

L-Theanine is great for relaxing. I use it nightly because it helps settle my mind down. I feel so wired with thoughts it helps control that. Makes me a tad sleepy too. If I don't have any caps, I just drink some non caffeinated green tea. Tastes great too. I always get a great night of sleep and feel refreshed when I take either or compared to other sleep products.

For a time I was on prescription anxiety medicine and that crap could put you to sleep even in the middle of the day. In fact it did. I used to wake up in class drooling all over my desk in a ridiculously deep sleep. But at least I wasn't stressed

But anyhow I found melatonin to work well

a bit after your last meal try some sleep teas with chamomile, valerian, etc.

then, an hour or so before bed take some melatonin (time release if needed) and/or valerian supps.

just before bed take some magnesium and gaba.

Yes, many sleep aids contain Valerian root and melatonin anyway. ZMA is fine to take with it too. Sometimes I will not take the melatonin.

I've yet to see any studies on the prolonged effects of melatonin on the body though I've seen plenty of studies that would suggest it is safe in the short-term.

I have yet to try any medication for sleep but have had much success with many of the aforementioned products.

Melatonin in higher doses (or possibly in compounded regular doses) has been shown to lower testosterone. I have solid test levels on my last regular checkup, so a little loss here and there is fine as long as I'm getting a decent night's sleep. But it's something to think about, particularly if you're doing some sort of a supplement/PH cycle. I wouldn't take melatonin every night. And benedryl has some even worse side effects in regular long term use from what I've read. Best bet is to get the prescription stuff like ******, if you can.

I've been staying away from melatonin lately, I don't want to go overboard with it and cease regular production of it. ZMA has helped me quite a bit, once I close my eyes I'm in a great sleep. Also, Controlled Labs' REDuction PM helps me out, it has L-theanine, valerian root and GABA.

Try some sleep aids that have GABA or phenibut. Both make me want to sleep and give me a good night's rest!

Prolab's REM is a combination of valerian, melatonin and BCAAs - works great. ZMA is also helpful for sleep. Just a warning - be aware that valerian doesn't smell very nice.

You could stack ZMA with Valerian Root, L-Theanine, and Phenibut, that's a stack that has always helped me.

Although a little pricey and the taste sucks, I liked Somnidren a lot. It made me very relaxed and I slept great while on it.
