to each his own i guess but i like working my legs. squats are one of the best exercises there is. plus man, it helps if you work out for more then just to have people look at you. seriously.

why do you think i work my legs in the first place? coz i used to have chicken legs....
i can easily tell if the person have chicken legs or big legs....
-im 5'9 and when i sit down next to a person who's taller than me....comparing my legs and his legs...my legs oversized his legs.....height difference
-pants on, big legs look wider than chicken legs
same thing with guys that have big lats...they look wider as opposed to guys with no lats...with shirts on...

Well...the soreness from a strong leg day can be more than 4 days. I have gone almost a week in the past...and that meant no cardio for almost a week.
If you plan to be heavily involved in cardio, I would not risk the DOMS or even injury to the legs until you are done with the need for regular cardio. If bulking, GO FOR IT. IF cutting, do it lightly once a week so that you aren't out of comission for too long on your cardio.Mark these words in the annals (no homo) of bodybuilding.com.

i admit I do HATE doing legs
heavy (for me) squats and lunges suck donkey balls
My perspective (caring only about the aesthetic side of things) i train them for a few reasons
1. wide hips/ large glutes can give you a better V shape illusion
2. CHICK DIG A NICE ASS ON A DUDE (fact)
3. Theory that squats release more test
4. in the summer you can wear shorts that are short enough to show off the quads but long enough so that people don't question your sexuality

I used to train legs religiously. Till I started to get insane pain in my left knee from doing deep squats. I have naturally thick strong legs . I walk an hour everyday plus do hiit for cardio 3 times a week so my legs are far from out of shape.
And to those that say u need to train legs to grow. I gained 20 pounds on my bulk not touching squats.
But I may be the minority I don't knowPersonal Bests

i always lol @ these threads cos first people are like:
"MAN YOU GOTTA TRAIN LEGS, YOUR BODY WANTS TO GROW IN PROPORTION SO IF YOU DONT'T TRAIN LEGS YOU'LL NEVER GET BIG"
then in the very next paragraph will be like
"MAN I ALWAYS SEE HUGE DUDES WITH CHICKEN LEGS LOOKS RIDICULOUS SO YOU GOTTA TRAIN LEGS!"
make up your mind..

I do squats, but I am inclined not to do them and will be throwing them out of my schedule soon.
My form is ****ty, and there is no one around in my gym who knows how to do the correct form, or is willing to take time out to teach me how to squat correctly.
Dont wanna **** up my knees so soon because of ****ty formDepressed Amsterdammerr is depressed :<

It all depends on your goals. If you want to gain mass, you'll look bad with chicken legs even with a great upper body. If you're an athlete however and are just trying to get faster, quicker, weight training which targets the legs is not necessary (unless very tiny untrained legs) but rather doing plyos and speed drills will me way more important. But no matter what your fitness goals, there are certain parts of the body that must be trained with resistance to give one the strongest base possible, such as core, back, shoulder, hip flexors. Someone corect me if Im wrong since this is just in my opinion.
