well today I tried to keep my calories lower than last week. I didn't touch the bagels, or any of the pop tarts. I ate Korean, and Indian chicken curry today, along with some fat free ice cream, and fat free sorbet. And I had cereal for breakfast. Next week I am going to eat mini wheats instead, so I can get more fiber, and so I can get less sugar than the raisin bran crunch.

I decided to only eat when hungry this week, which means I am going to just eat 3 meals a day, which are slightly larger. Previously I was afraid to not eat every 3 hours because I could lose lean mass, but that was just increasing my calorie intake for the day. But now i realize that I am carbing up to preserve my lean mass, so this week my calories are going to be quite low, and we will see how the week progresses. Today's cals were 1800

You need to eat protein grams to maintain your lean body mass. Carb-up to restore your muscle glycogen levels that give you energy for the week before the next carb-up and the fats to cover the caloric difference and provide energy that your carbs are not doing during the week.

Yep, that's what I am doing, getting in at least 180g protein per day rest from fat

Welp, we all have those bad days. Today was the last saturday that one of my friends is going to be in town. Drank alot of beer and alcohol, along with I don't even want to know how much food. I gained only 7 pounds, which is expected, but I'll see how the week progresses. I will probably skip carbing up this week after this. But I can't complain, I had a good time tonight haha. Went to a Mexican restaurant, and I had some fajitas and some Dos Equis, with some margaritas. Needless to say I feel like ass right now, and I'm completely sober as well, I just feel bloated as all hell.

Well I've got an idea for a "cheat meal" this week. A 16 ounce prime steak and a plate of hot wings, all cooked by me! this will be delicious.

nice progress so far. I started keto on a wednesday and "should" be carbing up by next wednesday but I am going to do it on Friday. What kinda things do you eat? Like are you trying to keept the fat low protein monderate and carb high? I already feel like my energy is tapped out, like when I did my workout yesterday I could feel like I got weaker lol. Which sucks but it will come back in good time

check the recipe section, there are a couple variations. But the way i do it, it is really damn simple. 2 tbsp natty pb, 1 scoop chocolate whey protein isolate, add water until you get a smooth sludge texture. i tried adding 1/4 tsp of baking powder to it last night, was pretty awesome. Makes it alot fluffier. about 4 g net carbs, if you have zero carb protein like i do.

Which sucks but it will come back in good time
Yea that would be a good idea, i have screwed up my progress way too many times by just having a cheat day instead of an actual carb up. For a clean carb up i mainly focus on oatmeal, whole grain cereals (raisin bran, mini wheats) with fat free milk, fat free ice cream, sorbet, and whole grain breads.

I am switching to a TKD, and i am probably going to have to increase calories for a few weeks, and then decrease them to lose weight, because I am probably already starving myself as it is.

alright change of plans lol, screw TKD, because it seems that i need to carb up every week to lose weight. The vanadyl sulfate and ALA are working great, fully carbed up today with FF ice cream, cereal, oats, rice and 3 chicken breasts. The VS and ALA have caused me to gain absolutely no bloat and i will continue to take them through the next few days and then i will stop when i hit ketosis.

    New to Keto diet

I started this diet on Wednesday and have been reading through the board trying to get as much info as possible. What is a carb up day? From what I have read so far, I thought the whole point of a keto diet was to keep the carbs below 30 grams. Another question I have which I cannot find an answer for is would carbs taken right after a workout count towards the daily total?

i believe the general idea of a carb up day is to refuel your body so you don't lose muscle mass and is generally the hardest workingout day.

Cool. That makes sense. About how long after starting this diet should a person have a carb up day. Like I said, I just started this and am guessing that it is way too soon to think about it.

The palumbo macro's are working out great. It's also good to know that I don't have to eat every few hours, I can just have one big meal a day, or 3 moderately sized meals. Calories is what counts. So i am amazingly down to 183 this morning, which kind of confused me, but i'm not going to complain haha.
